My New Favorate Quote From a Game

"I'm only going to ask you this once...give me the Naughty Nightwear!" I love Fallout 3 :D. It's only leopard print pyjamas, not exactly what I would call 'Naughty' :P I'd also like to thanks everybody who gave me advice in my last blog, particularly lightwarrior179, Allicrombie and Gamer_152. I'm still not sure which MMO to get but a lot of good points were bought my way and I thank everyone who took time post in the blog. :)

Which MMO? The Reigning Champ or the Promising Newcomer?

After what seems like...well...a really long time we are finally going to get a new computer :D. I can't tell you how glad I am that we are getting a new one. The one I'm using is so old I'm struggling to post these blog posts up...seriously. Anyway with this computer comes a new opportunity to get involved in a type of game I've wanted to get into for a while. The MMO. I'm looking into two games, the ever so popular World of Warcraft and the upcoming Champions Online. During a period when I was downloading MMO free trails World of Warcraft was definitely the game I liked the most and nowadays you get it a pretty cheap price (minus the subscription fees). That said the game is getting on a bit now and won't really show off what the new PC will be able to do. On that basis Champions Online looks very interesting as it's a bit more spec heavy, and since it's newer I think I'll feel less of a n00b playing it than WoW :P. The universe seems more interesting too, never been too big a fan of the whole orcs and goblins thing :P That said it's not as proven as WoW, could be a stinker for all I know... I'm hoping you guys will help me make this decision a little bit easier. If any of you are fans of any MMO's please speak up. While the two games I mentioned above are the main ones I'm considering and thus, would like to hear more about I'm open to other MMO's as well. Also, if you're currently playing World of Warcraft or are planning to pick up Champion Online please let me know. It would be a key factor in my decision if it was possible to team up with a few of you guys. :) PJ

The not so lost tales of Mexico!

The first thing I did when I got to Mexico was have a staring contest with a shark ...I lost :( I was later told that sharks practise all day so they can keep an eye on their prey. I also got to see one of the severn new wonders of the world...Chichen Itza! It was an awe inspiring sight! I got told a little about its history too, did you know that the Mayans (who made Chichen Itza) also made the first known observatory? It was also very hot in Mexico compared to the UK (which I guess goes without saying) so being given a bottle of liquid made me very happy! My dad on the right, a very happy me on the left Despite that fact that me and my family spend an unholy amount of time looking for souvenirs we did not get a sombrero, instead we got something much more terrifying! We got clay models made of ourselves! Let it haunt your nightmares! Man I glad this finally up. The HTML error would not stop till I wrote certain section by hand (god know how that made any differences). Next time I'll actually do a blog about games :D PJ

The Cookie Monster is HUGE!

...and doesn't share

More pictures coming, I haven't been able to get a hold of my sister's camera yet which has the majority of the pictures on it. I don't know how long it will be before I get a hold of them, but they will be up. :)

In more gaming like news I've started playing Fallout 3 again. With the DLC coming and my save data wiped clean it seemed like a good time to do it you know? :P I'm going to try and be a little more evil this time...going to be the wastelands most notorious pickpocket.

I have beaten the endless set list on Rock Band: Unplugged (the one where you have to play every song in the game in row). On the flight back from Mexico I think I can honestly say that I'll never be doing it on Rock Band 2. Seriously I'd be seeing coloured gems for days!

Lastly I'll leave you with this riddle from Professor Layton. My mom bought just before we left and well...I've played it more than her so far :P

You have 10 capsules. From today you need to take one
capsule each day, but each pill is different and must be taken on a
specific day. They are all the same size and color and cannot be
distinguished between so you have decided to write numbers on them
to help you remember. How many numbers will you need to write?

Enjoy! :D

Back with Lag

This is just a quick blog to let you all know I'm back. I've just landed home after a ten hour flight and I feel pretty damn tired. I'll update this blog with pictures later if you want to see them but I feel a bit too jet lagged to do so at the moment...that, and I can't find the camera in the luggage. Now if you excuse me...:passes out:

I am Off to Get a Sombrero!

Well, I'm Off to get a Sombrero! I'm here to tell you guys that I will be going to Mexico for my hols tomorrow. I will be gone for two weeks. First one to mention swine flu will have to answer to Mr Shot Gun :pumps shotgun:.

Anyways as with any holiday you must pack a few handheld games in you bag. It's like an unwritten law or something :P. And this year I feel I'm well catered for…

Rock Band: Unplugged

Because two weeks without Rock Band is just too long :P. I've played a bit of this game so far and I'm enjoying it. To be fair though it would be hard for me not to enjoy it. Amplitude with Rock Band = win! :D

Pokemon Platinum

You know, every time one of these 'Directors Cut' Pokemon games come out I'm always say I'm not going to buy it…and every time I lie to myself. Still Pearl/Diamond was my favourite game of 2007, so I guess playing it again with a few improvements won't hurt me :)

Art Style: PiCOPiCT

A DSi puzzle game I recently downloaded. It's really addictive and really hard! I would tell you more but the game is kind hard to explain. It involves building Nintendo characters from pixels…if I go into it any deep my brain may start to hurt :P

Final Fantasy VII

What can I say about this one eh? :P I've got this game on disc but I've never finished it…perhaps it's 'time?' ;)

Who has time for sunbathing when I've got all these :P

I hope you all have a great summer! Remember, don't neglect all those games you've got! :P PJ

PJ Interview...Louis-D

Louis-D in short: Huge fan of binoculars, does not find Resident Evil scary anymore, is getting very tired of marriage proposals

What is you're all time favourite console and why?

It's a tie between the Playstation 2 and Xbox 360, but I'd have to go with the 360. It has a great library of games and I've enjoyed playing with friends on Xbox Live. Sure it has the RROD and annoying people online, but that doesn't matter...does it? (PJ: If your 360 has the RROD I think it would matter :( )

What would be your perfect setting for a game?

A setting in space is always good. I'd like a game that allows you to land on different planets and experience a variety of environments (similar to Mass Effect or Star Wars).

Which is better? Cats or Dogs?

I prefer Dogs. They're better companions and generally more loyal. But I also like cats because they're the animal equivalent of Solid Snake.

Realistic games or non-realistic games?

Non-realistic games are better. At least then you can have fun and enjoy playing. I'm not sure if I've played a realistic game, but I suppose Rainbow Six: Vegas on 'Realistic' difficulty was realistic. I feel like I've repeated the word realistic too much... (PJ: Well, at least your being 'Realistic' about it! :D...I'll hit myself now :( )

You have just been told by a giant talking head that you are destined to save the world. What is your first reaction?

My first reaction would probably be "WTF?" because it's not everyday you see a talking head. I'd then wonder why I have been chosen and I'd convince the head that he has made a mistake. It also seems quite a hefty task, so I couldn't be bothered. (PJ: I wouldn't annoy the guy, being head butted by a giant head is not pleasant  )

What is the most frustrating game you have played and why?

Probably 'X-Men: The Official Game'. I borrowed it from a friend to gain some achievements, and the experience was painful. Some areas of the game are OK, but for the most part it was just frustrating and boring (especially on the harder difficulty). My opinion on Iceman has been scarred because of this game.

How can I tempt you to the dark side?

You can't tempt me. I'm always the good guy. But if you have cookies or muffins...then maybe I'd be tempted...they would have to taste perfect, though (PJ: Crap! Why did I bake cake! )

If you could have a cameo in any game, what would be?

That's a tough question. I'd like a cameo in the next Elder Scrolls game such as a random NPC or city guard throwing in a few one-liners here and there "Good day, Citizen!".

And the all important question...what is your favourite type of chocolate?

Milk Chocolate is defiantly my favourite. I like most Cadburys products, Galaxy, Ferrero Rocher and Thortons! (PJ: Finally! Somebody with good chocolate taste! :D )

Thanks again Louis! As always if any of you are interested in being interviewed PM me or say so in the comments box.

Next time! That it for this batch! I'll be sending out some more after I'm done with my holiday :D

PJ Interview...Elraptor

Elraptor in short: Goes to law school, like people to feel welcome if they don't know why there here, currently the leader of the borg

What is you're all time favourite console and why?

The Ps1 is my all-time favourite. It was the first console that I bought for myself, and I spent untold hours playing Medal of Honour and NFL Blitz.

What would be your perfect setting for a game?

Transplant Mordor into a futuristic sci-fi world, and you would have my vision of a perfect game setting. (PJ: Complete with Robo Salron! :D )

Which is better? Cats or Dogs?

Dogs. Most dogs are good-natured. Cats are quirky at best, psychotic at worst.

Are their any game characters you think are overrated?

Snake from MGS. Sorry, Metal Gear fans. Snake is cool and all. In fact, the first Ps1 game I bought was MGS. I still have to say he's overrated. A gruff voice, a nicotine addiction, and some unpolished stealth skills shouldn't qualify you as a video-game superstar. (PJ: You forget the fact he has a predictable technique of hiding in a cardboard box. :P )

You have just been told by a giant talking head that you are destined to save the world. What is your first reaction?

I would immediately offer to negotiate an hourly fee schedule or contingent fee percentage for my work.

What is the most frustrating game you have played and why?

My answer would have to be FFX. It shouldn't be. That game was mainly fun. I just could not, for the life of me, get a grasp on blitzball, the levelling system, or basic battle tactics. (PJ: ...so...you could get the entire game? :P )

Reality shows...yay or nay?

*barf* (PJ: Your going to clean my shoe right? And is anyone else having River City Ransom flashbacks?)

If you could have a cameo in any game, what would be?

My favourite video game character is Darth Revan, from Knights of the Old Republic. I think it would be awesome to have a cameo as an Old Republic trooper or Jedi from that era, but the very best sort cameo would let me play a clan-age Mandalorian. For Mandalore! (PJ: you realize nameless grunt die pretty fast right?)

And the all important question...what is your favourite type of chocolate?

I'm not much of a chocolate connoisseur, but generally caramel is good. Dark chocolate, not so much.

Thanks again El! As always if any of you are interested in being interviewed PM me or say so in the comments box. :)

Next time! Louis-D finally gives me the chocolate answer I want to hear!

The Good News and the Bad News

The good news is my PS3 replacement arrived today! :D The bad news is I've lost all my DLC and save data...:( I have just started what I like to call, "The Great Re-Download of 2009". Why did I have to by so much DLC? This is going to take days! At times like these you really have to look on the bright side. My trophies are still intact and the replacement was the 60GB which I certainly wasn't expecting. I'm also thanking my lucky stars I saved a copy of my Burnout save data on to my memory stick. I think I would lose my mind if I had to go through Burnout for a THIRD time! :P And while I have lost my Rock Band 2 save data (and DLC...boy is that take a while) it does give me an opportunity to play through the game again, so I guess it's not all bad :) Well, I feel better after that :)...I wish you a YLOD free life...boy do I wish I had one :(

PJ Interview...Canana

Canana in short: A frequent Editorial blogger, Has a HELL of a lot of PS3 trophies, Hail from the sunny (I think) country of Portugal.

What is you're all time favourite console and why?

It's the PS2 defiantly. I bought it around 2001 and the console is responsible for the gamer that I've become today. I can't describe all the fun that I had. I have +200 games and once in a while I still play them. Note: is still working.

What would be your perfect setting for a game?

The jungle. I always liked a game/level in a jungle. There's so much to explore. Besides, I can use my stealth skills to aniquilate the enemy. (PJ: Play Far Cry much? :P )

Which is better? Cats or Dogs?

Dogs, much more friendly. Period. Don't get me wrong, I really prefer dogs. From Samoyeds to German Shepard's, from Collies to Dobermans, all of them were friendly.

What would you do for this Ice cream I am holding?

Probably nothing. I am not that ice cream eater that I was a few years ago. I would gentil ask you to stop licking. :D (PJ: Your no friend of mine...:P )

You have just been told by a giant talking head that you are destined to save the world. What is your first reaction?

Where are the bad guys?! Also, I would pick PJ24 as my partner... (PJ: :D, Let's Rock! :pumps shotgun: )

What is the most frustrating game you have played and why?

It would be Manhunt for the PS2. I did beat the game thought but after a 6 months break. I couldn't beat the part in the subway when you meet the Police (almost at the end) They were too many...

If I gave you 50 euros right now what game would you buy?

Can I borrow 10 euros from you? A new game costs 60 euros in Portugal. But if I had to choose one that would be InFAMOUS. Looks really great. (PJ: I try and be hypothetically generous and this is what I get :P )

If you could have a cameo in any game, what would be?

Just because I am a big fan of First-Person Shooters(FPS in short), any battle in the Call of Duty series should be enough to satisfy myself. I prefer modern times, I think there are too many WW2 based games.

And the all important question...what is your favourite type of chocolate?

I tend to enjoy milk chocolate a bit more then the others. It tastes really great.

Thanks again Canana! As always if any of you are interested in being interviewed PM me or say so in the comments box.

Next time! Run! The Elraptor is going to assimilate us all!
