Let us see. PC won this generation. PC won the previous generation (the PS2 came close though). PC won the generation before that.

I think PC will win this coming generation as well no?

PCs beating consoles at their own generations since the late 1970's.

GOGOGOGURT

PCs don't have generations, they just get upgraded.

I don't think people should compare PCs and consoles.

I agree. PC's are out of the debate here; and even if they were, you have to spend $200 every other year to keep them running the latest games at a respectable frame rate.

I say PS4 will dominate next generation for a few reasons: (1) The Cell 2 (2) reliable hardware (3) exclusives (4) Sony brand new (5) Sixaxis 2 (6) free online.

Wii U will come in second, only because it appeals to the ages 4+ market, but it will not win because people will recognize it for the fad that it is.

Xbox 720 will flop hard, and here is why: RROD 2. The RROD killed the Microsoft name brand, and it will kill any console they make next generation. Not to mention Live is expensive as hell now.

So console gaming with ps3 and xbox 360 seems to be getting stale and I dont play games much anymore. Will buying a gaming pc revive my enjoyment of playing games? I mainly want better graphics. Playing games you cant get on consoles looks fun too.

The only thing that was "burned out" this generation was the Xbox 360 and it's red ring. The PS3 and its Cell processor is still going very, very strong; and with great games coming out this year, I feel it will prove to still have a lot of untapped potential.

What company in the world would come out and be like "Yep, you caught us. We're working on a console." Hint: none of them.Merex760

They will announce PS4 very early next year and release it around August. GoW 4 will come out around launch. This year we will get the GoW trilogy reboot.barry000

unless that comes from sony's mouth, that is nothing but a rumor. and don't give me that "inside source" crap either because i'm not buying it

Well my "insider sources" tell me that GoW Trilogy reboot will be released this year, and PS4 will be announced/released next year.

Anyone else seen these banners that have just started popping up on Gamespot these last few minutes? They link to the Playstation Facebook page. My bet's going on a new 'God of War' announcement.

barry000

I've read they were going to release a God of War trilogy pack redesigned for the PS3 graphics. Next year is when GoW 4 will be out, but it's coming for the PS4

and you believe that rumor? last i read, both god of war 4 and the ps4 weren't announced at all. and if i remmeber correctly, didn't sony say around e3 last year that the ps4 is a hand full of years away? plus sony said a few months ago or so that they have no plans of revealing any new systems at e3 2012 so don't believe everything you hear

They're supposedly going with an AMD x86 based CPU.

lundy86_4
Do you believe we are even ready for the PS4? I mean the cell still has a lot of untapped potential, and I would rather see the Xbox 720 come out before the market is ready, fail; then allow for the PS4 to come out in 2-3 years when the cell is finally outdated, and then finally dominate the gaming market again.

Will the PS4 use an upgraded version of the power cell processor, or will they look to go in a new direction? Sony continues to push innovation in each console with the emotion engine in the PS2, and now the Cell in the PS3, but unfortunately inexperienced developers had a hard time harnessing the Cell to make it run games smoothly. Now since developers have a grip on the cell and it's advanced architecture, will Sony decide to keep the Cell and just give it a slight power boost?
