looks good, dont need an external card, but if you arnt happy with it grab an external card.

the biggest thing if for a nice sound system or pair of headphones, like my pair of grado sr-225s on the way, im going to get a nice external DAC for it instead of a sound card.

so i was debating for a long time and finally decided on a pair.

you sure could, assuming your hp doesnt come with all three of the pic port filled, its likley that all 3 or atleast 2 are free so you are more then likley okay.

and as for wanting one, you are probably fine with the built in audio, it supports 8 channel audio, but if you did want to upgrade it would be very simple, take off side pannel, stick the card in one of the free pci ports, side pannel on, and install your software.

there may be more to it depending on what card you get, just follow the instructions with the card and you will be fine.
