my computer has the following config

256 MB ATI Radeon x700

pentium d 2.8GHz

bioshock demo is not running properly...the game installs and runs, but the display is not proper...the display is blank at certain angles and the mouse pointer is not visible in the main menu. what can i do to solve the problem?

panchat

Well you are running a graphics card that only supports shadel model 2, this requires one that supports shadder 3, ati did not release these until the x1xxx series cards, and there is a patch for the game to run with a SM2.0 card, i have not tried it and have no idea how it runs, and i dont believe it works with the demo, but do not know for sure.

High specs on everything running at 1280x800. Runs smooth with an occasional loss of frames but nothing too serious. Should work fine by final release. OP20

...you didnt post any specs of your machine, thats usually helpful in a forum with people wondering how crysis runs on what kind of hardware....

[QUOTE="DarxPhil"]Where do i get the Registration Key?(Not the Beta Key)Madsucktion

They e-mail it to you when you register (so use your real e-mail addy).

As for me, I have everything set to High, but I forget what I set AA and resolution to unfortunately :(. I was getting some super wierd load-lag when it came to textures though. Meaning, that I would run into a room and everything in it would have checkerboard-skin placeholders, and then they would slowly load in piece by piece (in chunks suprisingly, as in all glass would load at the same time, then all flooring and all desks...etc.)

I'm running: Intel Core 2 Duo (E6550)

: 2.0 GB RAM

: GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB

its also kind of funny that you have a card that doesnt exist, do you have the 8800gts with 320 or 640 megs, or the 8600 with 512??

its going to have to be crysis for me, although OB looks good, the new engine from crysis just looks to spectacular to pass up.

This game is a great game for visuals, sound, and atmosphere, but if you are one of the many unlucky people running into issues (like me) it is a nightmare, i have spent more time trying to get this game working then actually playing it, if you want to know what my rig is, read my blog, it has my specs and 3dmark05 results, it is easily enough to run the game but it crashes constantly, have to i it in compatibility mode to get audio outside of a cut-scene, it is just an embarrassment that they sold the game as is with so many compatibility issues...

anyways, last word, great game, if it runs.

Hardly fair to compare the two, they are completely different, i love the adventure aspect of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. more, but in raw graphics wise it isnt even a contest, BioShock slays S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in almost every way possible.

I vote S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but im an action-adventure, RPG and FPS fan-boy, so this had allot more of the other aspects in it and won on my list.
