No. There are several reasons why it wont work out properly: 1) Having good/powerful hardware won't mean anything in the games industry (look at the Wii, it has horrible hardware and it dominates the industry). Furthermore, you need developer support in order for your console to success. A console is just a plastic box unless there is good software to play it on. 2) The company would have to develop their own motion control devices. Between the Wiimote, PS Move and Kinect, I don't think there is any room left for another motion controller. Especially since Nintendo/Sony/MS already have loads of patents. 3) They would have to develop their own online system. I doubt anybody can create a console with better online than XBL. Only PC gaming (an open platform) can beat XBL when it comes to online gameplay. 4) Brandnames. Google, Apple, and Samsung are not Japanese companies. They are American or Korean (Samsung). They wont get much influence in the Japanese market.

[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"][QUOTE="bobcheeseball"]And yet all the games built around it are trash. It's only real advantage as being an optional control option for actual quality games.Deathtransit
Killzone 3 and SOCOM are trash?

He meant move-specific, and makes a good point.

How can he have a point when he hasn't even PLAYEd a Move game or touched the Move controller? By that logic, I can say that Ferrari F50 cars are very slow and trashy too, right? I have never driven a Ferrari F50 before, but hey, I guess you can't disprove me, right :|

Nintendo will do better in every category but graphics.

Who cares about graphics in a handheld though?

What about online gameplay, mature games and digital distribution. Nintendo can't compete in those areas.

[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"] Yes but in the last 12 months the highest rated PC exclusive scored 8.5. The PC has been around forever so of course it's going to have more high scoring games.Danm_999

Actually, it has far more highly rated exclusives even if you only count since the launch of the next generation consoles. If you include its entire back catalogue...

As to your second point, I predict Starcraft 2 will be amending that streak in the next few days.

StarCraft 2 will be awesome. But I want Diablo 3 :(

I would think a next-gen handheld from Nintendo with some cool new tech like the 3D would pretty much render the PSP obsoltete. Though that is to be expected.

Sony was smart not releasing info of the PSP version 2 yet. It's in development and we know they are working closely with Nvidia to make the PSP to have some serious graphical punch but it there was probably not enough games or the hardware wasn't just up to par to actually show anything. Smart after Nintendo came out so strong with the 3DS.

I'm sure within now and next E3 we will see some stuff of the next PSP and at the next E3 we'll see a full unveiling of it. I'm sure Sony has decided to attempt to fix the problems with the PSP as well as make a strong next-gen platform.

The PSP did sell well over 50,000,000. That is a rather large number of them.

I dunno if the 3DS having better tech will make the PSP obsolete. PS3 has better tech than Wii and PS2, and it doesn't look like Wii is getting obsolete in terms of sales anytime soon. But apart from please. PLEASE Sony release a PSP2 :D :D

[QUOTE="PandaBear86"]The PSP still has several advantages over the 3DS. Bigger screen, cheaper price, better digital distribution, you can get free mini-games if you are PSN+ subscriber, etc. Need I say more? :)ThePlothole

Collectively the original DS has more screen area than the PSP. And the 3DS has more screen area than the DS.

[QUOTE="hakanakumono"]

The 3DS may be coming, but the PSP has a number of big titles coming out, or that have come out just recently.

MGS:PW, The 3rd Birthday, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Tactics Ogre, FFXIII Agito, P3P ... Even if Sony is forced to pull out of the west, it's unlikely that 3DS will put a halt to the momentum the PSP is buidling in Japan.

Unless publishers decide to port some of those games over to the 3DS.

You can't look (focus) at both screens at the same time so that doesn't really matter. On one screen, you will see the action, and on the other screen you will see a map or inventory screen, having two screens combined doesnt make the experience look any better as far as the action goes. Not saying the 3Ds is bad by any means.

[QUOTE="PandaBear86"][QUOTE="jasonharris48"] We can't comment on the 3DS DD service Nintendo hasn't said anything about it.

If Nintendo won't allow people to transfer downloadable from one system to another I don't think anybody will take it too seriously. Nintendo makes several iterations of their handhelds, so being able to transfer your downloadable games from an old handheld to a newer version is very important.

Well in that case Sony wins. (I thought Sony sucked at DD but I didn't know Nintendo was worse)

Sony are actually good with digital distribution their games. They allow you to transfer DLC from one system to another without much hassle. You can purchase digital goods using real money (instead of "Points" currency) etc.

A lot of people called them arrogant when Sony said the PS3 would cost $600. But Sony has more vision than the fanboys. If the ps3 was cheap like the 360, then Move would not have worked on it. This is because the 360 is maxed out already, and devlopers are still discovering the hidden power of the PS3.

Sony also had the foresight to put in Blu Ray. Fanboys said there were no benefits. Sony proved them wrong in 2009 with 2 Megaton releases. Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 could not have happened without Blu Ray. There is no way those visuals would fit on a single DVD.

Then how did crysis fit on a single dvd, when its visuals are on a whole other level compared to those games?

PC games are compresses more heavily, because it gets de-compressed onto your hard drive, unlike consoles which process data from the disc on-the-fly and use less compressions

If you protect a message and lets say you decide to hit the "delete all messages" button, the protected message will not be deleted but all of the unprotected messages will be.

NamelessJay
Oh okay, thanks for your help :) I was assuming it might mean it won't auto-delete after a while. On XBL, if somebody sends you a message, it gets auto-deleted after a while. Does the same happen on PSN? I'm fairly new to the service :)
