I'll wait until Sharp releases a glasses free 3DTV and until the price drops under $1000, in which it may take years from now.

The problem with no-glasses 3DTVs is that the 3D effects only work if you are standing directly in front of the screen at a particular distance. This is no problem for a handheld device like the 3DS, but for a TV where several people are watching from different angles and distances? I dont see it working out well.

The technology will get better over time, which is why I mention for years from now on. The 3DS is only the start to what we will expect from the future of gaming and watching movies. I'm sure Sharp is trying to find ways to view glasses free 3DTV in different angles.

Maybe you are correct. It may take several years for that to be true, but for now, 3D gaming still needs alot of work and research before it becomes mainstream :)

[QUOTE="stiggy321"]And a 3.5 inch screen with faux 3D isn't "lame"? Does anyone remember the price of an HDTV in 2003? I think a 40" display that couldn't produce 2.1 million pixels on screen was around 8,000 dollars. I wonder what they cost in 1998. In 3 years the price will go down, and a lot of people will start to buy digital 3D technology for their private use. svetzenlether

See my last post, particularly the part about proprietary glasses and headaches...

I never get headaches from 3D. I believe it only happens to certain people with motion sickness issues.

And furthermore, theres nothing wrong with proprietary glasses. If I buy a Sony 3DTV, I will buy Sony glasses. Problem solved.

I think the 3D glasses are cool if they look stylish enough :)

The nice thing about Wireless N is the extra signal range, not the extra speed.

Doesn't look much smaller than current 360. Even if it has in-built power supply its still larger than what I expected.

Move appeals to skill? How so?

ShuichiChamp24
More accuracy = appeals to hardcore gamers because you need better skill to master the precision. Ask any PC gamer why they prefer keyboard/mouse over gamepads when playing FPS games. Its all about the accuracy and responsiveness.

Wake me up next time you manage to fit your PS3 and HDTV in your pocket and play it on a train ride :)

Damn...no one is forcing you to buy a 3D tv. Its an OPTION and options are always a good thing.

PSboy
True. You can't complain over an optional thing :)

When Color TV was first introduced, it was extremely expensive and everybody was used to their black-and-white displays. Everybody thought color in TV was a gimmick and hated the fact that there were hardly any movies that actually supported color at the time. And now 3D TVs have come into the scene with the same disadvantages that those awfully expensive Color TVs had.... hmmm.... :)
