not really. It won't be portable, if that's what you mean. If they are putting a 4-core in there, you'll have to carry around a hefty PSU everywhere.

PSP1 graphics architecture is very outdated by todays standards. I am sure that Sony could make the PSP2 have better graphics AND use less electricity at the same time thanks to optomisation. And that 4-core thing is still just a rumor, we don't know if its true.

If Sony doesn't want it to fail they wouldn't make it that powerful so it could sell at a reasonable price. As much as I would like to see a handheld hold its own against the HD twins, it would be too expensive.

Making a game dedicated to PSP2 would be expensive, but porting a current PS3/360 game to it should be quick and easy. EA had no problems porting Dante's Inferno to the current PSP.

When it comes to functionality, the current PSP feels a bit under-featured when compared to PS3. The PSP does not have in-game XMB, trophy support, you can't log in as certain users, access to PSN feels very limited, along with other things. With the PSP2 however, I feel that Sony will fix this. You will have in-game XMB, trophy support andsome other goodies to make it feel like you are carrying a "mini-PS3", rather than a standard handheld device.

Another thing I would like to see on PSP2 is multiplats shared with PS3 and 360. The PSP2 will likely have 2 analog sticks and improved graphics etc, so it will be easy to port several games from PS3/360. Of course, the PSP2 version will have downgraded graphics, but it will still look far nicer than the current PSP. I think developers willabsolutely LOVEthis, since they can easily downgrade their existing HD games to a handheld device. The reason why third parties make all games multiplats nowadays is be cause HD games are expensive to produce, so if porting to a third device is a good idea, then the PSP2 will be a blessing for them :)

Your thoughts? Would you prefer the PSP2 to be made this way?

Ubisoft is considering doing this as well. The pressure is building up and I like where this is going. Chains like Game will finally have to offer competitive pricing since a mere £5 off a used game is ridiculous.

If they make bigger price differences, that will only encourage people to buy used games MORE.

Which developers will then get a slice of ...

Not all gamers will appreciate paying $10 for something they believe they should have recieved in the first place. But if millions of people bought that crappy map pack for MW2 I might be mistaken :P

[QUOTE="PandaBear86"]The only people who enjoy FC2 are the ones who enjoy driving around for hours. Might as well buy Motorstorm if you like driving around in desert environments.AmnesiaHaze
i didnt like the driving as much because i was easy to spot for enemy , travelled mostly by bus or on feet though the jungle and enjoyed the game , what do you say now ?

If you travelled alot by feet, then I wonder how much time youv'e spent doing it. I don't have that much patience, walking around for long periods of time. Farcry 2 was a decent game, but the amount of travel time is annoying.

[QUOTE="PandaBear86"][QUOTE="HarlockJC"]Madden and the other sports games EA sells are some of the best selling games of the year. The retailers are not going to turn away from that when big chain stores like Wal-Mart and Target are not going to care what happens to the used game market. HarlockJC
I can understand Madden, but what about their other loads of games that EA makes? Not all of their other games aren't exactly blockbuster hits

Right now it's only the sports games from what I understand which will have these passes. Though has I stated before stores like Gamespot are not going to stop caring a game when all a gamer has to do is go to wal-mart.

Hmm well what if Walmart and all the other game retailers do it? Walmart and Gamestop are in all the same boat when it comes to Project $10.

EA has come up with a 'Project $10' idea, so if you buy a used game, you will have to pay an extra $10 for features that were cut out of the disc, or even some "online pass" etc. If you buy the game new, you can find the redemption code in the game's box. Good news for EA, bad news for retlilers and people who buy second-hand games.

I think that retailers have several ways to combat this:

- Less shelf space for games that use Project $10. Why would a retailer place a game with smaller profit potential on the very front of the store where everybody sees it? Might as well put a different game there, while putting a Project $10 game in the back row of the shelf so hardly anybody sees it at frst glance. Less visibility = less sales.

- Retailers will be forced to lower the prices of their used games. This means that there will be a big price difference between new games and used games. This will only encourage people to but the used game, since the price difference is very large. Most people probably don't care about the features they are missing out on. As long as they are getting the game for a cheap price, who cares if they are missing out on a shiny sword DLC?

- Retailers can refuse to stock a game unless they get a bigger share of the profits when selling a new copy. That means EA will get a smaller profit margin from a new copy, which doesn't suit their ideas much.

Your thoughts?
