When you buy a brand new game, you have already paid for the server maintenance. When you buy a second-hand game, the previous owner (who bought the game new) is transferring their "online pass" onto you. The online pass is tied to the license of the disc. Unless two people can play the game online using the same disc, there is no reason that they need two separate passes to play online if only one person can play online at a time.

Although I love Resistance, I am happy to see any shooting game selling lower than expected. I hope this teaches a lesson to all those developers that keep making shooting games in an already over-saturated market. You think that shooting games = instant gold mine? Just ask the bankrupt developers of the 'Bodycount' game. Not every shooting game will have the same success as Halo or Call of Duty.

This is seriously stupid. How can Nintendo struggle to out-perform Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics - even when trying to aim for a cheap price. Xbox 360 is like 6 years old for goodness sake. SIX YEARS OLD. In technological terms, six years is like old enough to be your grandfather. Even our mobile phones (which are not designed for gaming) are slowly getting similar graphics to consoles.

I don't really care for the "everything being brown" complaint, I mean the settings we're getting like fighting in deserts and apocalyptic wastelands of course things are going to have an earthy tones, the first dev to appease people by making sand purple and the sky green is going to get torn to shreds by critics.lamprey263
Purple sand and green sky would look cool on an alien planet. In Dragonball Z, planet Namek had green sky and blue grass - opposite from Earth, lol :P

One of the most common complaints with today's games is that they simply lack color. Take a look at how many games there are with nothing more than different shades of rusty brown/gray. Some people actually like this idea, often hinting that adding color to a violent game will make it look like almost like a childrens game. Well, Dark Souls has plenty of nice beautiful colors, and it is no kids game. The coloful artstyle actually makes it look MORE violent. If it was nothing but brown/gray, it would look dull and boring, whcih would completely kill the chilling atmosphere.

Your thoughts? Do you think that brown/gray is getting annoying in todays games? Do you actually like some color in your violent games? Personally, I only like low-color artstyles in WW2 games.

I loved Syndicate, but those screens disappoint me. Once again, modern developers have proven they know absolutely NOTHING about gaming apart from FPS. Maybe in 10 years from now, all EA Sports games will be FPS games, the only difference is where you carry a ball in your hands instead of a gun.

To hell with "modern" developers. Take me back to the 90's where people actually knew how to make games properly. Syndicate was a birds-eye-view game where you require strategy and careful planning. Now, it about a generic 5-hour campaign with a strong focus on cookie-cutter multiplayer and map pack DLCs. Get out, EA.

Hmm yes I have a feeling that Vita might just have the upper hand this time around. The Vita can play console ports (share multiplats with PS3 and 360). Since cheaper games can be played on mobiles, it leaves the Vita as the best platform for playing high-end games like CoD:MW3 and several other games.

I have no doubt in my mind that dedicated gaming handhelds can co-exist with smartphones and tablets like iPhone and iPad. No problems there. However, I can't help but think that it would be hard for *two* handhelds to exist together in todays market, due to the strong competition from iOS and Android. I have a feeling that in 3-5 years, one of the competitors would have to go - either 3DS or Vita. One will live on to compete with mobile gaming, while the other will have to throw in the towel.

If I had to choose, I would probably ask the Vita to leave, mainly because Sony already has Android tablets and Xperia Play to back themselves up in the mobile arena. Just leave portable gaming market to Nintendo. It's too hard to compete with Pokemon and Mario anyways, lol.

What about you? :)
