Elephant dung, could save your life.

I don't watch a great deal of television but I do spend some quality time with some of the programming that appears on Discovery Channel. One of my favorite shows is called Man VS. Wild. It's hosted by a man named Bear Grylls.

The following, is how Discovery Channel describes the premise of the show. "Bear Grylls hosts the Discovery Channel's MAN VS. WILD, in which he strands himself in remote locations to demonstrate localized survival techniques."

When I'm watching the show I find myself breaking down the various techniques that Mr. Grylls demonstrates into one of the following categories.

A: I could do that.
B: I'd like to think I could do that, if I had to.
C: I don't think I could do that.

I recently watched as Mr. Grylls explained that if dehydration were a real threat, you could drink the moisture contained within fresh elephant dung. He then did, just that. It was then that I added a fourth category to my list.

D: Oh heck no! I'm not doing that!

So remember, if you happen to find yourself stranded or lost in a place where pachyderms abound and your dying of thirst, elephant dung could save your life. Personally, I would much rather have an ice cold can of Dr. Pepper.

'68 Camaro Trans-Am Racer

I wish that a publisher would make a driving game that focused entirely upon the era spanning from the mid 1960's to the mid 1970's. Trans-Am, Can-Am, Indy and Formula 1.

The 60's and the 70's were a time of great innovation and experimentation within the realm of motorsports and the cars were absolutely beautiful.

Juiced 2 Demo Is Sour

I spent some time with the Juiced 2 demo, available on the Live marketplace. From what little there is to see and do within the demo, I can say that the game does not appear to be broken. It is however, bad.

I've never played the original Juiced, so I can't make any comparisons between the demo and it's predecessor. Juiced 2 appears to be a poorly realized knock off, of Need For Speed Carbon. Even if the developers had done an admirable job of mimicking carbon, that still wouldn't be an achievement worth celebrating.

If the demo is in any way a clear indicator of the games overall quality, then avoid it like the plague. I own a large number of really tepid and underwhelming titles and I wouldn't purchase Juiced 2 at a bargain bin price. If I won't touch it, it really and truly does stink.

Forza Amusement

Many of you will think me crazy for this. I really enjoy watching a great race. I've found that I enjoy watching Forza's AI as it runs truly fast and nearly flawless laps. I'm currently watching a 700HP Buick, flying around Nürburgring, with a McLaren F1 GT inches away from it's rear bumper. I really wish that I could drive as smoothly as the game's AI.

Yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

Forza 2 Career Complete

I've finished the Forza 2 Career. I wish that there were more. More tracks and more cars.

There are still a number of cars to be purchased and online races to be run, before I can claim all of the 1,000 points available in the game. I'm currently at 780 points, with 35 of the 44 available achievements and 2,711,239 credits in the bank.

The game requires that you reach level 50, within each of the various regions, to unlock all of the vehicles in the game. I doubt that I'll be doing that any time soon.

Forza 2 is one of the best driving games that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Worth every single penny, in my most humble of opinions.

Shame On You Sony

So, Sony's announced $100.00 price cut on the 60GB PS3 isn't a price cut at all. It's a liquidation sale. I'm extremely disappointed in Sony. When the drop in price was announced, I decided that I could live with the new and improved price point and that I would purchase a PS3, at my leisure. Now it's become a race to purchase one of the discounted 60GB models, before they vanish from store shelves.

I truly enjoyed my PS1 and I continue to care about my PS2 but at this time, I really don't have anything nice to say about the company that designed and manufactured them. Shame on you Sony. Shame on you.

$19.82 The Price Was Right

I found myself in a local Walmart today. Like always, I made a point of checking out the game selection. I found both Rockstar's Table Tennis and MotoGP'06, on sale for the bargain price of $19.82. I snagged both of them.

I played about ten minutes of PGR3 last night. It came gratis, with my wheel. As was expected, it's totally PGR. The game does not in any way look bad but the cars look like toys, when compared to those found in Forza 2. I doubt that I'll touch it again, until I've finished Forza.

Pre E3 Sensory Overload

I really thought that I was ready for this years E3. I was wrong. The event hasn't even officially started and I'm already suffering from sensory overload.

New and interesting E3 related blog entries are popping up at an alarming rate. GameSpot News, seems to be as busy as it has ever been. A price cut has been announced and the show hasn't even started!

I need one of Jody Robinson's organizational aprons, for my thoughts. This years E3, for myself at least, is going to be a crazy, tumultuous event.

Rickrolling

Have you been Rickrolled? I have. This ridiculous phenomenon has managed to annoy me enough, to warrant it's mention within my blog.

Rickroll

To post a misleading link with a subject that promises to be exciting or interesting, e.g. "Starcraft 2, in-game footage!" but actually turns out to be the video for Rick Astley's debut single, "Never Gonna Give You Up". Allegedly hilarious.

It was funny, for a moment at least. It's no longer funny. If you're thinking about engaging in Rickrolling, don't.
