This is part of a mod that is coming toward it's end process. This gear will all be slaped in a custom case that I have been working on for a while and I am nearing compleation.

At first I was hoping to keep the build under 3000USD but o well, I want to do this one right, cuz I want it to last me for a while.

The total for the gear shown hear is 2651USD +S&H/Tax

Budget Blown by Case Mod, I am building it from ground up cuz even Lian Li didn't offer a case that conformed to my exact needs.

Notes about the build-

I might downgrade the video card to a HD4870 and then CF or get a better card when I need cuz right now the HD4870 will run all the games I want on max.

Also I am gonna be water cooling, but thats another thread.

Also if I downgrade the video card I might bump up CPU but IDK

This Comp is for Casual Gaming, aka. I don't need the most stunning nextgen grapics cuz I am running XP anyways do to allready having a spare copy of pro sp3. And my current monitor is 22".

If you dont mind the price there is no beating the sound quality of the new bose headphones and they have different version that are all just as good.graphicartist21

this is not meant as a flame towards you.

now that that is said I feel that if bose speant as much money as they do advertiseing ad put that to developing more and better products, and at differn't quality lvls, aka their headphones didn't cost as much as a monthly morgage payment, bose would be a better company for it, and produce better products. IMO

however what they produce now is nice.

[QUOTE="Barknip"]

[QUOTE="Elann2008"]I dont like the fact that the case is so concealed. It doesnt look like it could breathe. No front air vents or blowhole. The only air coming out of that thing is the back but no air is going in. Air intake is just important as exhaust. It's sorta like a car. Air intake + exhaust. You gotta have an "in and out" flow. Elann2008

It does have grills all around the edges of the front panel... but im not sure how effective that is

Not very effective at all because air-flow should be coming in from the front, out the back. The chances of warm or hot air escaping those grills around the edges of the front panel is highly unlikely. It will go out through the back with the air-flow. A blowhole is great because hot air rises. So the hot air at the top of the case is vented out through the blowhole. I would look into another case. There are far better ones.

I dont even see side air vents on that case. Hell, even retail computers at Best Buy have side air vents. Yeah, definitely look into something else.

Lots of Lian-Li's are made with modification in mind, either from the consumer or whatever company the sell their comps to.

I am thinking about upgradeing my laptops ram cuz the slow loading times of the apps and poor performance in WOW.

First would this help WOW, and for WOW all my settings are low :'( ?

And if I upgrade should I get 1 or 2gb of ram?

Some History-

-Hardrive has just been wiped

-has a fresh install of xpsvp 3

specs below tell me if you need more info

Pentium M processor 1.6ghz

DDR512mb ram

Its a thinkpad that works for word processing etc. I just wanna play wow on low-med setting, and where the image doesn't look like a old movie with all the chopiness.

Thx y'all

Oh yeah and I forgot a DVD/CD drive. LOL! One of those would be helpful. :)

Any reccomendations for one at a good price off of NewEgg?

TheUberKnight

Hey i was just looking for a case for my new build and i found this one which i really like, http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2007/09/05/lian-li_pc-b25/1 . I really love the look, the lack of weight and the fact its quite a large mid tower case but not a huge full tower case. But im kind of worried about the cooling, it only has two 120 mm fans at the front and one 120mm at the back. Do you guys reckon this could be an issue? im going to be running a HD 4870x2 in it and i hear they get quite hot. Can you guys suggest any other ways of keeping inside cool? thanks in advance

P.S im not too keen on watercooling :D

Barknip

I like your syle lian li make great cases :)

check out this website, they normal offer features on their case like adding an extra fan or window etc. To spice up their pcs

If MNO then i recomend looking at the high end Zalman and Lian Li cases, also look for cases at performancepc.com frozencpu.com, and xoxide.com (the ones near the top when you google pc cases) they tend to organize the cases better and offer you cool pc mods etc
