I was wondering if i could get some suggestions and input as to some good programs that can monitor the temps of my computer and certain parts.

I was also wondering if there were any programs even out there that can adjust the fan speed on certain fans of mine.

I'm a newbie at this stuff, so if anyone could help me out and explain the basics if needed sorta thing.

I not an expert but heres my $0.02

If your fans are connected to your mobo then you should be able to control them in the bios, if not someone else can help you, And if they are just conected to the PSU then I think you are stuck at full speed unless you get a cable the reduces the ammount of power the fan is trying to draw.

hey i read something earlier that reckons that this mobo ONLY takes ddr3 ram, is that true?

To see the diferences between mobo's go to newegg, like the gigbyte X48 mobos all look the same but some use DDR3 some have 6 sata plugs some have 8 sata plugs etc, also if you are building now and are not a super enthusiast I would recomend DDR2 ram, getting 4gb of DDR2 is really cheap now

I just did a quick thing, and obviously if the Q9550 is that cheap then it would be the better buy, also quads run hot so he should probly get a CPU cooler of some kind.
