Many of the morals of religions are just an excuse to try and kill subjectivity so said religious people can feel superior and just when they throw their subjective judgements on people.

I'm not saying all religious people do this. Its mainly the ones who accept them as an example of perfection, or standards for the only view that can be good.

Stupid? People will vote for someone they believe is closer to their beliefs, that represents them. In some cases it is the only logical choice if you want the concept of a democratic republic to have any merit. People vote others to represent them, this often includes religious and moral beliefs. It isn't illegal, nor is it stupid.
