@RicanV: Yes, however, if you stop paying, you can no longer play the free games they provide.

@thekittenofwar: How else was it supposed to end? This seems to me, to miss the entire point of the ending to begin with. Every time you came across a decision in the game, you had choices. You were in control (most of the time anyway). Not at the very end. You had a tough, numbing decision to make. It had meaning. Whether or not you liked it, it was still important to the story. Max couldn't just time travel her way out of it. She couldn't go back and find an alternative. She had to make the tough decision: save her friend or save the town. It was the one decision Max couldn't run away from or mediate out of. She had no choice but one or the other. As gamers looking in on this, yeah, it probably sucks because in the context of this being a game, we want more freedom than the game is allowing. But in the context of the story and characters, it has more meaning than that. It's not supposed to be easy or pleasant, necessarily. But it is supposed to have impact and meaning to the story, and it does.

Geez, I've never seen so many people this perturbed about video game articles. Give it a rest. Destiny 2 is currently the big, new game out. It's going to get an overload of articles. Give it some time. October is a pretty decent size month for gaming. I'm sure, at the least, when the next month comes rolling around, the articles on Destiny 2 will subside. Probably a week or two more realistically. And GS isn't the only site to get gaming news from.

Have barely touched it, only about 2 hours in, but my feelings so far are mixed. The gameplay is still excellent an the familiar tackle of various objectives on the map are fun, but I fear this game will suffer from a similar fault with the first. It's better, but Bungie still seems to be approaching this from the wrong angle. This should be an MMO through and through with a hundred hours of content at least. From the look of it, there's probably not much more than 40, maybe. The first game gave me a good couple of months of content before I got bored and dropped it. Maybe this will be better, but they really should strive to give this franchise the kind of life that MMO's have. The tools are all there. The gameplay is great, co-op is excellent, the story seems drastically improved this time around. They just need far more content to keep the life of the game up.

Just get Kojima to co-write. That will make it very Kojima-ish. I applaud the guys passion, but I'm not sure it's possible for MGS to be a good movie. There's just too much to it and half of what made it a classic were the clever and well designed gameplay elements. The story and characters are excellent and movie worthy, but I'm not sure that means it will make a good movie. But we'll see. Doubt this will break the curse, but who knows. At this point anything could surprise us.

Think we all knew it was happening this way. With this movie only covering the first part of the book, it would be an incomplete story without a second film.

@streamline: I think we know that much. Really the question is how. He, more than anyone else, was the most interesting person to watch. He rarely ever got violent, but managed to worm his way to receiving the title Warden of the North purely through plotting. I would have loved to see how far he could get to the throne and how he planned to make it happen. He did a lot more to get what he wanted than just arranging murder. I'd even argue he was one of the few characters on the show to get what he wanted all the way up until he died.

I think people need to not be so culturally sensitive. As a Jew, when people create entertainment with generic aspects of it or use stereotypes, I typically laugh it off. It's not hard to get things right if you do the research. And people need to lighten up. If Pixar doesn't get it 100% correct, people don't need to have a fit about it.

@super-khalid89: Well, IF they had any major bearing on the plot, Martin would have told the producers something. He gave them the major plot points, including how he intends to end the series. So if Littlefinger a major role in the plot for the next two books, they probably knew. It's also very possible that Littlefinger will die in similar fashion in the books too. IMO, it would be justified.
