Again, people seem to be worrying about nothing. I have explained this before. PS3 is a late bloomer. The price will eventually go down, and the good exclusives will eventually come out (Final Fantasy 13, MGS4, DMC4, etc.). I don't see why people always get up in arms. It's called patience. The PS3 won't go extinct. Sony makes enough money as a company and the system has a big enough fanbase that it would be hard pressed for the PS3 to go out so quickly. So, it's simply a matter of patience. As for me personally, I would rather play Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy 13 over and over than anything 360 or Wii has to offer. Booooooring.
My biggest deciding point is going to be my income at the time. Granted, I would be willing to shell out a thousand bucks on launch stuff, i.e. PS3, games, controllers, etc. However, I doubt that I will have that much money to spend on a gaming system. I worry about Sony's "make it and they will buy it" strategy. Are we all really deemed that retarded as to go and buy something made by Sony despite the cost. My biggest issue is that Sony is the only one who makes games that interest me (or more accurately, their exclusivity with game makers). Sure, X-Box 360 has their X-box live, but I have no interest in that, and none of their games so far have made me want to buy a 360. And the Wii has nothing of interest for me. Even their controller seems to be nothing more than a gimmick to sell mediocre games and imports. I don't care about peripherals or online games. All I really want are great franchises with some fantastic games. And PS3 seems to have em all: Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XII, etc. I guess those games aren't for everyone, but I prefer the more cinematic, story intensive approach. Well, we'll see I guess. As far game price, rumor has it that the games will be between $60-100. Hmmm, a hundred bucks for a game. Now that's unrealistic.
