Thanks for getting back to me. It's way over my head but I think I get it.

I want to connect my PS3 to the internet.  My PC which is upstairs is connected my ethernet from the phone line.  My PS3 is dwnstairs?  Do I need another ethernet cable or router?  No clue how to connect it from the phone line when the cable is being used for my PC.

I have Resistance, Motorstorm, Ridge Racer 7, Oblivion, and Fight Night

I live in the UK and got oblivion a couple of weeks ago off ebay.  It's an import, but PS3's are region free.  Good game but Resistance is my fav.

I've been using a HDMI cable but have changed to component.  I've attached it properly and it's connected but I cannot get a signal.  I've tried turning the PS3 off and restarting but nothing happens.  What do I need to do?
