Current consoles don't have to be as powerful as the current high-end PCs of today to have a major jump in performance. Consoles are significantly holding back PC game development but once the new consoles come you will see what current PCs can really do
Sony do not have to make a $600 console for it to be a jump over the PS3, don't let Sony fool you, it was Sony's poor strategy that caused the PS3 to be so expensive. If they took away the Blu-ray drive from the PS3, it would've been around $200 cheaper - there was nothing wrong with using DVD as shown by the 360.
Sony is in a difficult situation, no doubt, but not releasing a powerful PS4, a next generation console worth buying, would be basically giving up. Sony have to fight for survival, they have no choice.
Reading comprehension problems? I said both of their CPUs use the same PowerPC architecture - that is all. And you are in no position to call me misinformed, no position at all.
As if clock speed is everything? The 360's RAM is a single pool making it much more flexible to use than the PS3's split RAM. And the 360 GPU has unified shaders, cutting edge tech at the time. The PS3's GPU is a gimped 7800 essentially. They aren't similar at all, it's the GPU where the 360 shines the most over the PS3.
Xbox 360 and PS3 both use CPUs of IBM's PowerPC arhictecture. It's the RAM and the GPU that really separate the two, and where the 360 comes out superior. Almost all multiplats are better on the 360.
No, I'm not. GT5 has some downright awful graphics at times. Have you seen Laguna Seca on it? It looks nothing like it does in reality.
Difference is that Sony are probably already losing money on the Vita which is why they can't drop the price, though they probably want to.
Not the same situation at all. The PS3 had a massive amount of hype surrounding it thanks to the success of the past two PS consoles and because of this developers were already far into development with their games for it. This is why a lot of games which were PS3 exclusive landed on the Xbox 360. I'm sure we all remember the meltdowns from Sony fanboys when FFXIII was announced for 360... fun times.
Vita has no hype, not development and Sony are too poor to drop the price. PS3's price dropped $100 less than a year after release, I should add.
Haha, right. There's little the PS3 can do that the 360 can't do and can't do faster also. I bought a PS3 for GT5 and it's got to be one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. It's not just the Blu-ray drive that was a mistake, it's the hardware in general, the split RAM, the relatively weak GPU and of course the unnecessarily exotic CPU and this is why PS4 will probably not be backwards compatable with PS3 games.
Funny, seeing as how Sony priced the Vita at $250 which was the same price as the 3DS during the time of E3 2011. Lol. Of course, I am sure Sony don't see the 3DS as any competition at all...
With the way the Vita is selling right now, it won't be around in a few years. You've made up an alternate reality in your mind.
