@lordcheddar2010 @PodXCOM When you buy a used iphone, you buy new apps for it, right? Who do you think would get a bit off the top of the apps?
If publisher THQ could have made a little more money, then maybe we could of had a Homeworld 3. Maybe we wouldn't be getting so much sequels and, you know, maybe we can try some new gamplay.
You know, I heard that movie writers get something like 0.14% of the sales off of DVDs and blu-ray. So that means, a good writer can stay alive just from his old movie sales.
Oh, didn't thought you would reply. Nice that you did.
1. You're correct, more creative games will be made. More games like Red Faction: Guerrilla, From Dust, Dead Rising, and others.
2. It will be alot easier to make games for it. For a start, the PS4 architecture is like that of a PC. Another big reason, is that they have now 8GB of powerful GDDR5 RAM. It's a very big deal to have this RAM. To give you an idea of how big, most PS3 games are 1 to 2GB RAM games force to be in a 512MB console. Indie games won't need big graphics, but they will use the extra power to make their games faster and better. In fact, that's why The Witness is only for the PS4 and not the PS3.
@Philip Iyobo Eki You can't use your imagination? Sheesh! Kids these days.
I can think of a hundred things for the Next-Gen, that I couldn't do in this Gen.
Like, more games will be like Red Faction: Guerrilla, From Dust, Dead Rising, Hydrophobia, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Total War, and more. In fact, what's stoping game-makers from combining the best parts of Red Faction: Guerrilla, From Dust, Dead Rising, Hydrophobia into one super game?
My point with Dead Rising is that it was a fun game, that couldn't have been made on older consoles, and there are going to be great new games for the Next-Gen, that couldn't be made on this Gen. Maybe there will be a Super Dead Rising. Or maybe we will have a game that takes the best parts of Dead Rising, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Half-Life 2, and From Dust.
About Red Faction: Guerrilla: You thought it was bad?! Even if it was, that is *JUST ONE* game. Duke Nukem Forever and Half-Life 2 has similar gameplay and puzzles, but one of them did it better then the other. If DNF came first, would that be a reason not to see what HL2 could do? Maybe someone will do a better RF:G then RF:G.
Did people forget what we can do with new tech? We'll have more Red Faction: Guerrilla, From Dust, Dead Rising, Hydrophobia, and more. We'll be able to do whatever we want.
