The quickest way to recover from burnout is to take a break from gaming, period.

jun_aka_pekto

This is the solution to your problem. If you don't have much to do, try looking into other entertainment mediums like TV shows, movies, anime etc.

If all else fails you can play Portal 1 and 2 :)

[QUOTE="Beetroot502"]

Performance wise I can max it out now and it runs SO MUCH better. Before, I would get the same performance no matter what the settings were.

Yep I agree. The performance is much much better. However, it's still not refined. I'm running max settings and getting 40-60fps. IMO it shouldn't drop below 50 fps lol. Maybe I'm dreaming :D lol Happy Friday!

OP you need to look beyond the blockbuster titles. I suggest you try out the following games as all of them are very creative in their own rights.

- Amnesia: Dark Descent

- Bastion

- Magicka

- Minecraft and/or Terraria

Lets hope the game is better optimised this time around. Really scales poorly with 1 GPU on the highest settings.

I finally got some time to myself and just finished normal mode. I have to say it was amazing and a worthy successor to Diablo 2.

I look forward to playing nightmare / hell / inferno mode and trying out the other classes (played Barbarian).

You do not have to play the previous games. I recommend watching the following youtube clips to become familiar with the story up to where Diablo 3 begins. You can opt to play the games but they have seriously aged which could make it frustrating to play.

Lore Coverage:

Diablo 3 - Diablo Lore Series: Part 1 (Pre Diablo 1)

Diablo 3 - Diablo Lore Series: Part 2 (Diablo 1 Lore)

Diablo 3 - Diablo Lore Series: Part 3 (Diablo 2 Lore)

Blizzard than Valve at a very close second. In my opinion, no other PC developers come close to their level.

I recommend all the games recommended by the posters above me and the following:

Serious Sam 1, 2 and 3

SWAT 4 plus the expansionSWAT 4: The Stetchkov Syndicate (gem)

Magicka

Diablo 3 (May 15th) and Torchlight 2 (anticipated in a couple of months)

The only thing these two games have in common is their hype level.

With that said .. D3 hands down. I really enjoyed the GW2 BWE and will certainly play it when it day one but I have been thirsting to kill demons for a very long time. Plus this year is the resurgence of isometric action rpgs :)

I think we PC gamers are going to be very spoiled this year with these two juggernauts and many others including like DotA2 and TL2.

lag is unbearable lag spikes, framerate issues because the game is CPU bound and barely uses your GPU. i would have gladly waited another month for them to work out the kinks for this game and at least push out a playable beta so we could submit feedback about the core mechanics. it's gotten to the point where i don't want to play the game anymore and help the dev process, even when the game itself is bloody brilliant.princeofshapeir

Yeh the lag on both fronts, FPS and net, really hinders the gameplay. I have yet to try WvW (mostly because I don't know how to access it) but I think that will be an even bigger mess given how laggy the open world content has been up to this point.

Side note, loving the game especially the underwater content (from what little I have seen so far).
