if they make it on a completely new engine with great physics and dedicated servers for 32 players I am all in :] actually I am pretty curious what they want to achieve for the next gen consoles and I dont think it will be the same game as MW3.5 or something xD but no interest in pre-ordering it with shooters like Metro Last Light on its way and Farcry Blood Dragon I am all good so far with FPS games.
@Atheno exactly or to name some higher profile games, look up Half Life 2 (that one still has an amzing physics engine) or apply the Complete 2009 mod to STALKER you will have a blast, it even has bullet drop physics much better realized than in BF3 :D
@Atheno @Printul_Noptii there are a lot of games that use physics effects in a very realistic manner, I recommend you play Cryostasis, that game still has one one of the best water effects I ever saw in a FPS
@Atheno yes you are very right but... ideas sound very good on paper and realistic gameplay is always fun, the problem is you cant apply most of the realistic ideas into gaming because it would simply break the gameplay and people dont want to run on mud which will slow them down they would rather use a jetpack to fly around the map and rocketshoot people **cough Halo cough** lol nope in all its fairniss destruction should be limited regarding multiplayer at least.
@mindfreak4563 yes because physics arent a main issue on the PC because the PC has variable resources and you can build in a ton of memory wheras the consoles have limited memory I think the Xbox 360 has only 512 MB ram and you couldnt emulate big scale destruction on that :/
@danielwd yes it would destroy the leveldesign and layout and it would even break the gameplay but I think the biggest issue so far on the consoles was memory ussage. Remember Crysis where you could chop a palm tree in thousand pieces ? :D
