I think looking at a dismembered statue and thinking bewbs says more about the person than the merchandise itself. When I first looked at the statue, last thing I thought was "HOT BOOBS".
@dex3108 - I highly doubt they would see 100K as an expected sales figure. Generally speaking the people that sign these petitions are a minority. There are still a bunch of people that either don't follow this closely or don't care enough the join this petition. I fall in the latter category.
@hector530 @commander1122 By exclusivity I meant Win 8 only instead of also including Win 7, etc.. Most haters will grab at anything to keep the hate train going, making the game unavailable to those that threaten with sticking with Win 7 will only increase the bad rep(especially if Microsoft enforces the use of a store account as a form of DRM to play Halo 4).
@hector530 @commander1122 To be fair they would probably receive a lot of hate for doing that. There are already several high profile developers and other people on the internet spreading bad buzz on Windows 8. Whether true or not, an exclusivity like that would only add fuel to the fire.
@Luminious0 @Tripwolf It's rarely so black and white though. After all not every company has the same luxuries as Valve or Blizzard. There reaches a point when your budget simply cannot afford delays. You can't take all the responsibilities from the devs and their internal QA staff.
@Deinbeck @makryu @ahpuck NWN2 was ok but indeed buggy, KoTOR2 was rushed because LucasArts forced them. And your distaste of Fallout does not make it crap game. The game was better than Fallout3. Particularly in the storytelling, which has always been Obsidian's strong point.
@Zepthire95 @Decessus @ApocaLeepse Depends on the deal with the publisher though. A lot of times a publisher pays for the game to be made, afterwards every purchase goes to the publisher and not the dev.
I think you grossly overestimate how easy it is to get funding for a new IP, even for an established dev. Whether it's Obsidian or an Indie they both get your money. Only difference is Obsidian is a lot more visible, and thus easier to hold accountable if they don't want a bad reputation.
