[QUOTE="Sooshy"]

"Once its technical issues are solved and its upper level content is a little more fleshed out, Age of Conan will be hands down, the best online RPG on the market."

Statements like that is why GameSpot reviews just don't mean what they used to. How can you call something the best of anything on the market? You say, "One of the best" not "the best". Makes me think checks are being written.

Looking back now, I went over and watched the Video review for World of Warcraft... I dont believe MMO reviews are ever fair. Most of the things they bragged about were already existant.

Ontop of that, the gamespot review claims that "You dont feel the grind in WoW", when you clearly do throuout the entire experiance, and then well... the end game.

Making such big claims is flawed, a nd to make it clear im not bashing WoW, I may end up going back to WOTLK, but it is nothing but a grind with outdated combat and an engine so limited there is little to no innovation taking place.

It took them 3 years to make a "cinamatic immersive" looking instace ... sunwell, everything before it was shallow in comparison imo.

Couldn't disagree more. Scholomance, Stratholme and Dire Maul are by far the best designed instances ever.

Sun Well MGT instance doesn't have the World of Warcraft feel to it. But thats just my opinion.

Oh and btw, I actually liked killing boars at the start of the game. It gives you that RPG feel of acomplishement when you progress to higher levels and fight against more strong opponents.

I replaced my others system 8800GTS with my current one. I'm going to see if the problem still persists.

I found a usefull thread about it here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=59513

My cards temprature currently is at 58c. Idle/Internet browsing (played some games 2 hours ago)

My other system with a similiar setup (also 8800GTS) seems to idle at 50c. But that case has much better cooling so that is to be expected right?

My card seem to be fit well as far as I'm concerned. I played World of Warcraft for almost 6 hours yesterday. Not a single problem.

Oh and btw... my third one occured just now while browsing. And still counting ;p

I would apreciate if someone with experience could perhaps help me out here. Might save me some time from having to brign the product back all the way for nothing.

8500gt isn't a proper gamers card.

At least 2GB ram is necessary for AoC.

And you better hope the HDD is 7200rpm.

Also.. note that the game performed bad on my Q6600 and 8800GTS 512mb.

I switched to the 169.21 drivers for XP, and the perfomances was boosted up significantly.

There are some spooky things going with that game, technical mysterious issues. The ran terrible for me on shader model 2.0... and better at shader model 3.0. Don't know what caused it, but those drivers fixed the problem for me.

Don't take my word for it, there is no guarantee that it will fix it for you. Your problem is probably the system itself.

Yesterday I purchased my 8800GTS (good buy €199)

I got 2 random purple screen. The card works fine and I doubt its faulty.

Thing is, I don't want to switch my drivers due to Age of Conan performing very bad on anything other then the 169.21.

I know the blue screen wich is a technical error, but purple screen? Has it to do with my gfx card?

I can go back to the store and change it for a new one. But then the problem might not be solved.

Is the purple screen a common issue? Anyone here ever experienced it?

Thanks for any input.

More opinions. Should I go with the GTS?
