Well what kind of problems with your 8800? is it all the time artifacting or glitching? If it is you could try baking it. For 70 euros you could get a GTS 250 which would put you back in the same performance range as your 8800GTS

Heres a GTS 250 for 60 EUROS

have you tried baking your 8800gts?ferret-gamer

Woah, wait a second. Baking my graphics card? really now?

At first it all started with my game freezing. When I restarted the whole system wouldn't startup aymore, lots of red stripes and coloured pixels. I started my PC with onboard video card and it seemed to function, so its not the monitor. tried different video cards even.

Anyways, if I'm not being trolled here, what would baking my 8800 GTS512 be helpfull for :O ?

Recently when my pc was behaving oddly, after a while and some tests I came to the conclusion that my graphics card officially died :(

Before I start my qeustions, here my system specs.

Quad Core 6600 2,4ghz, non clocked

Nvidia GF 8800GTS 512 MB

2GB RAM

Asus P5B motherboard with one x16 PCI Express slot, I think.

Corsair 520 Watt power supply. I think it feeds my pc more then enough.

My operating system is XP 32 bit home.

Now I intend to buy a new graphics card, but I prefer to buy one with similiar... maybe a little better perfomance of my current graphics card. since I'm actually fairly satisfied with the 8800GTS 512MB.

I run World of Warcraft, Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2, Dragon Age etc, on Max graphics, always at 1680x1050.

Now I haven't been up to date with newer generation of PC Hardware for pretty long, so I'm kinda clueless of what type of graphics card to order.

I need one of similiar perfomance, or one that performs slightly better, but doesn't get bottlenecked by my CPU.

My maximum budget is 60, maybe 70 euro's max. Have things gotten any cheaper yet, do I have too high exptectations for this price range?

Any helpfull responses apreciated :)

Ok so with alot of button mashing I managed to get a pertition free of 29 GB of space. I prefer about 50 GB wich would have been nice.

Still haven't tried of course, so don't know if it will work in the first place. Maybe another software might be better I suppose.

I can't create a partition size larger then 10 mb.

You have:

Unallocate space before:

Partition size:

Unallocate space before:

The partition size cannot be increased higher then 10mb. Is this perhaps because the software needs to be paid for?

I wanted to format my harddrive for a long time and reinstal XP. Now I don't have any external HDD. I figured maybe I could create a new partition for my hard drive. Like split it in 2. One C and one D. I could put some files in D. Then when formating, I format C.

Is this possible at all?

Both SpeedFan and CoreTemp report about the same I think.

If it helps I have B3 stepping, the older one.

I was considering to do exactly that. Don't have much time nowadays, I'l bring it to the hardware store so it can get a cleaning service too while I'm at it.

I still blame the heat though. Insects, disease, pest, skin burn, skin cancer, concussion and other dangers. Global warming will teach all those sun worshippers soon enough... :P

I don't have much info on the case. Its black, Aopen brand. Its aluminium/metal type of material rather then the cheap plastic some have. It was kinda expensive back then.

MY CPU is not overclocked. standard at 2,4.

With this extreme weather I get headache of my 360 allready, like the sound of a vacuum cleaner. My coolers are at minimum. The difference doesn't compensate enough though anyway. I'd rather not have a headache :P

People have been complaining about ''bad weather'' so much last year, this summer my computer is burning like the kentucky fried chickens. Currently my Q6600 idles at 55c! And whilst playing online CoD all day, load at like 78c. I'm not sure if it reaches higher ocasionally.

Usually in cold season my Q6600 idles at 30c, load at 45 maximum. My cooler is not stock, I have custom Zalman cooler on it. The difference that makes cannot compensate for the heat. Going to pack my bags and move to Iceland or even Russia for that matter lol.

How drasticly do your temps get affected by weather change? Seems prety extreme here with me.
