Hardcore gamers tend to play more for the competitive challenge. Including me. While casuals play games for fun. Both Fun and Competitive gameplay can bring satisfaction to the gamer. The only difference is that hardcore crowd is more skilled.

Get a Radeon 3850. Cheap and tops the 8600 in nearly all aspects.

Q6600 has more then enough processing power. Actually Dual Core is the way to go. Unless you like multi tasking.

4 GB ram not needed unless you use Vista.

Also don't upgrade just because of one game. Crysis alone is not worth it. There are better games then it.

I'm a car enthousiast so that speaks for itself. Would love to test out those cars in the Jeremy Clarkson track.

And as for the comparison, I think Gran Turismo will top it. But I can't say for sure.

The fun factor is slowly diminishing for me. And yes I have to admit, I've lately considered completely dumping my hobby altogether.

I've experienced pretty much all kind of games so far this generation on all 3 systems. All sort of different genres also.

I can't say I have been impressed much. Either the games I've played aren't next-gen worthy or my standards or expectations are simply set too high.
