[QUOTE="R-A-W-R"]For those of you who have ever wondered who would win in the fight of Jesus vs. Thor, you now have your answer - Jesus.smc91352what? Jesus wasn't even in that story. St. Boniface beat Thor, not Jesus. :P (yeah, I know you'd say its 'cause of Jesus, but its still not Jesus in the story that beat Thor) Okay then, someone who came in the power of Jesus defeated Thor. That should show Jesus all the more powerful. :P

Cyrus The Great (King of the Persian empire before the Greek wars) was the first human to write a human rights document. The document is called the Cyrus cylinder and it contained laws such as the equality of men and women while also forbidding slavery in the Persian Empire.Speaking of Cyrus, he is mentioned in Scripture and it is very likely he was religiously, though not ethnically, a Jew. 2 Chronicles 36:22-23 states, "In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing: 'This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. Anyone of his people among you-may the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.' ' "strawberry9
In other words, it might very well be that this first human rights document is actually based off of the Bible.
And please, I'm not trying to create a debate about this. I merely wished to point out "something cool/interesting." :P
I don't know if I should feel depressed or happy for you... :? enterawesomeDo not be depressed for me but happy. I was simply trying to show Christ exalted through my life's story. I'm certainly happy with how life has turned out. :D
I grew up with great parents despite my dad's hidden alcoholism (I never even knew about it until high school) and one brother. My mother is a great Christian woman but due to my father I was only partially brought up in the church setting. Though I wasn't sure what I was really doing at the time, I apparently became a Christian in the sixth grade. I say apparently since I only remember my baptism.
As time passed I wanted to be a "good Christian boy" so I slowly became more involved in church though questioned many aspects of it. Despite my hidden questioning, almost agnosticism, and love of art, I felt "called" to be a church leader. Thus, I began teaching Sunday school and eventually went to college to become a pastor. In college, I fell deeply in love with a cute little redhead. This relationship was idolatrous and adulterous but regardless, I began saving up to buy an engagement ring. She eventually left me and I was devastated.
About this time my faith actually became real. I was devastated and my "life" had left me. Thus, who did I have but God? Even though I was studying to become a pastor, it was then I surrendered my life to him, changing my life forever. Now my life has been transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my life's mission is to give people the very same thing that has given my life purpose and hope. I seek to do this via starting churches in the urban North and possibly use my artwork as a medium for teaching biblical truth along the way. I'm now a seminary student preparing for this life of service.
I like to use his pinky too. :oops:I use my pinky when I want to feel fancy.
