you bring up some good point but the attach rate doesn't really mean anything. just cause people buy alot of games when they buy to consoles doesn't necessarily relate to how many games they will buy over the coarse of their consoler's lifeRagashahs

publishers invest in an IP will the sole purpose of getting as much money out of it as possible. Recently games like Bioshock have sold amost half as much as the top PS3 games have thus far in their first week out. Im sure the PS3 will get a huge installed base after christmas, (I'll be getting one after tax season) but the xbox fans have always purchased more games than the playstation fans. The xbox 1 had an atatchment rate of 5/1 at the end of it's time and 4/1 the entire time before. the ps2 had 3/1 in the end and 2/1 in the beginning. Publishers analyze the market and sell through to determine the best place for their game. I will say at least this, if it doesnt beat the PS3, there is no way it will just become unrelavent. the number of consumers the industry reaches through the 360 is much larger. I know there are also other consoles. This was just about those two. thats all.

The point is if you can sell more on a certain console, you will make games for that console. As the PS3 gets cheaper so does the 360. All the excuses that fly around this forum is making no difference, the 360 is selling. The PS3 still is a bit high for most people and Paramount's move into HD-DVD may have some consumers waving the decision to pick up a Bluray player. The exclusives are ofter reported as better on the 360 and HALO3 is known outside the gaming world by people who dont even game. A franchise like that will only garner more sells and the 360 with it's developer friendly enviorment will only garner more great games. Italready has an installed base to justify the games and you can make the game in 2/3 the time it takes to make a PS3 version. Live also offers more ways to get your game out there. More eyes to read your ad's, more hands to play the demo's.

The industry has changed. This is not like last gen at all. It is different. Already the first console out has been passed, the leading manufacturer last gen is struggling for sales, and the hated kid from last gen is now loved and hated as the leader before him. The 360 will not lose to the PS3. Not because Im some fanboy who thinks my opinion matters.because ,
