the default on the gpu was core clock 625Mhz and 993 memory clock out of the box, then i i did auto tune from the CCC the card broght and it raised it to 690MHz core clock and like 1100 somrthing MHz memory clock.. then i get black screens and bad image when i play Cod4,so it freezes. and why is the memory clock so low if its advertised at 1986 MHz.

Maybe you are going too far with it.

ddr= double data rate.

1986= 993Mhz on your CCC you got to times those by 2. so 1100 is 2200Mhz

Ok thanks didn't no about that, but thats the settings ati put when it was auto tuning and testing my pc. I guess default is fine then, but can u tell me why the fan stops working? I have to put them manually on everytime.

I bought a HIS ATI 4850, I read that u needs a 450W psu or higher, so i bought a 450w antec, I played CoD4 perfect in max settings with the gpu in default, but when i increase fan speed and core clock and memory i get a black screen or the monitor starts displaying retarded images. is it the psu that cant handle it or is the gpu messed up? the default on the gpu was core clock 625Mhz and 993 memory clock out of the box, then i i did auto tune from the CCC the card broght and it raised it to 690MHz core clock and like 1100 somrthing MHz memory clock.. then i get black screens and bad image when i play Cod4,so it freezes. is it my psu fault? and why is the memory clock so low if its advertised at 1986 MHz. Default was decent cause it was playing CoD 4 max settings 50-120fps, but in crysis it was in the 20-30s in high, i want this to do what it says. also my psu has almost no load, i only have 1 dvd drive, 1, HDD, and thats it.

I was thinking of upgrading the processor on my Dell E521 from a amd Athlon 64 x2 3800+ 2.0 ghz to a 5600+ 2.9 ghz, and came to realize that amd no longer sells the 90nm chip of the 5600+. Would using the 65nm brisbane model instead of the 90nm chip work on my computer or should i try and find a 90nm chip?

You in luck, I have the same dell E521, and i upgraded this week. from a amd 3200+ to a AMDx2 6000+ 3.1GHz 89W, everything is perfect and the temperature is perfect, i also got a new PSU and bought a ATI 4850 from HIS, and was running Cod4 in max settings very smooth, and crysis in high settings. u can buy the new 89W amds like i did.

did you have to change the heat sink from the dell one?

Since dell are asses, and they do stuff to the mobo to make upgrading a hassle i did have problems.. I wasn't able to put the heatsync and fan from the new cpu so i had to use the old one... luckly dell doesnt put cheep stuff in their pc's, the old fan is huge and the heatsync is decent, Im using the old stuff now and im @ 30-35c while doing nothing and 35-40c when playing which is still in the green when i look at my temperature monitor. the fans also gets higher if needed, the old one is great.

The 4850 runs pretty hot. Did you set the fan or did you leave it on auto? For me my 4850s idle at around 54-56C at 50% and as far as I know most of them with stock coolers are pretty hot.teh_VU
I have it in auto, how do i customize fan speeds in the GPU?

Well , your CPU temps of 30-35C are just fine. With CPU's once you start getting into the 60C mark is when your getting too hot. A very good Temp program is CoreTemp.

GPU's are good till about the 80C mark but just sitting idle at 60C is a bit hot.

Thanks man.., i almost messed up my mobo messing around.. since im a noob i cleaned off the old thermal paste and put it to the cpu with none and started the pc, then my fans started going crazy and i was getting 55-60c just being in my desktop doing nothing... i put some back and now its in 35-36c idle... before it use to be 30c idle... damn i wish i didn't mess around.. now its 5c higher..

I have a cheep dell so I can upgrade to anything thats great. I bought a NEW cpu, the amd x2 6000+ 3.1gHz 89W cpu, while trying to install the heatsync it came with i failed.. because dell does retarded stuff to thier mobos so people won't be able to upgrade. So since i couldnt put new heatsyn i left the old 1 of the old AMD 3200+ cpu i had. With the old heatsync and fan im getting 30-35C while web browsing or doing nothing, while i play it goes to like 35-40c, are these temperatures normal? when is it that i should start getting worried? I wanna now if the old fan and heatsync is cooling the cpu properly. I also bought a new GPU, the HIS ATI 4850, and when its idle its in 60-62C that cant be normal, I also put CoD4 in max settings and left it running for a while to see if problems would occer, but everything was fine. Then a while later after i just left my pc on just running to see if everything was fine i get the blue screen.Can some1 tell me a good program for monitoring temperature. thanks.

I bought a wii last week with Metroid Prime 3 and Comp Cables, after connecting everything, and played I almost was about to list it on Ebay the 1st day. I tryed Mario Galexy, SSBB, and Zelda, but those graphics are just unbearable to me especially on Zelda... It feels like Im playing a N64.. Since these games didn't do it for me I went to the Wii store and purchased Ocarina of time my favorite N64 game. Now when ever i use my Wii its to play Ocarina of time or wii sports. Ill never use this system to play real games like MG, or Zelda because those graphics are just to outdated compared to what im use to that it makes the games feel so boring. For now on im a just use it for party or fun games, like these that im a get soon, Cooking Mama world Kictchen, and the latest trauma Center. Im just going to keep it since I have a bunch of Gamecube games.. I don't know what i was thinking when i bought it... The sad thing is that these are 1st party games, I expected Nintendo to use the wii hardware the best. Right now wii is the only system I have available.
