A new Nintendo haldheld is unlikely to be announced for a good couple of years at least. The sales of the DS are still immensly high. It's looking to become the most successful console of all time at the minute. It would be insane from a business point of view to even announce a new conosle until that landmark is reached. I say go get a DS, and research as many DS games as you can because there are a hell of a lot games out their worth owning! ;)
The best 2 looking conosles came from that generation. The Playstation (not the PSOne) and the N64. They need to bring those designers back because the current generation of console is by far the ugliest!
I'm sure they haven't ignored your complaints. It's just they got the same complaints from 100's of people lol. There's not much else EA can do with yearly updates other than fix bugs. The changes are so minor i'd feel ripped off if I bought two sports games that a less than 3 years between.
How many first party titles have Nintendo put out already? I suspect far more than any other developer have released for any single platform this generation. Perhaps excluding EA lol. But my point is; there are plenty of first party Wii titles out there at the moment. Some of them still toping the Wii charts though they're a year old. Maybe it's time to let 3rd party developers take over the reigns and compete with each other rather than against Nintendo for the time being? We all know what future first party titles to expect for the Wii anyway. A new F-Zero, Starfox, Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, Zelda and Pikmin at least. It'll be no less than 1st party titles released on older Nintendo platforms anyway. Until next year we'll just have to look and see what other developers are doing for the system. Nintendo has pulled them in, but now it's up to those developers to compete with Nintendo to feed the whiniest bunch of 'core' gamers in the history of the industry. ;) As for arrogance, whats arrogant about developing cheap and fun casual titles if they're going to sell millions? Sounds pretty smart to me...
Only game of the series I have played is NHL 2K7, and that's because Ice Hockey games are rare in the UK, unless you snap them up early lol. Either way it's good news. I'll be following this until release.

And that's the sad thing about core gamers in the games industry. The graphics are more important than the gameplay.
I agree, 2d gameplay is trash. Even though a 3d game might not be as sharp, it would have gameplay 1000 times better than a 2d GTA. God, I hope this game isn't 2d!
Exactly, I agree. That's not what I meant at all lol. What I meant was that a top-down GTA, or a 2D one would not suffer in terms of gameplay at all. The original GTA being a prime example of that. It's just everybody wants a 3D GTA like on other platforms. Everyone wants the game to look better than it'll play.
All we can do is wait until they actually bother to release some info on the game. Everyone is making assumptions on how the game will be adapted to the DS, and from that believe they know how good or bad a game it'll be as a result. Basically people are doing one of two things: judging a game based on absolutely nothing, or comparing nothing to previous GTA games. Very silly.
Expect an FFV for sure. They have more than enough time to rework that one. They'll have the time to squeeze in FFVI before any kind of announcement of a new Nintendo Handheld, but it's if they'll rework 6 for the DS at all that is questionable.
