And that's the sad thing about core gamers in the games industry. The graphics are more important than the gameplay.I agree, 2d gameplay is trash. Even though a 3d game might not be as sharp, it would have gameplay 1000 times better than a 2d GTA. God, I hope this game isn't 2d!

That's not what I meant at all lol. What I meant was that a top-down GTA, or a 2D one would not suffer in terms of gameplay at all. The original GTA being a prime example of that. It's just everybody wants a 3D GTA like on other platforms. Everyone wants the game to look better than it'll play.
All we can do is wait until they actually bother to release some info on the game. Everyone is making assumptions on how the game will be adapted to the DS, and from that believe they know how good or bad a game it'll be as a result. Basically people are doing one of two things: judging a game based on absolutely nothing, or comparing nothing to previous GTA games. Very silly.You are right, since the 2d games played like crap, I don't know why people want a game that has no real gameplay. The DS can do great 2d graphics, like in New Super Mario, but 2d GTAs are about as much fun as having your teeth pulled. GTA wasn't fun until GTA3. The other ones are just lame. I tried the GBA game, but it wasn't much fun. I doubt a 2d GTA would be any good. The fun of GTA is too explore a virtual world. 2d just doesn't cut it.
It has been a while sence a 2D GTA was made so they may be able to refine the experience so it would be fun. A 3D GTA would be really glitchy like all of the other 3D games on the DS.
That's merely opinion to suggest the 2D gta's were rubbish. I personally think that behind GTA III (my personal favourite), the original GTA was the best in the series. Both games played the same, other than the player perspective of course, and both were the most fun and rewarding to play.
