i'm still reading that the game's getting easier tho. tedious experiences are a big part of the game. when dark souls came out i found it pretty much perfect. then they went ahead with all those patches and suddenly the game got a whole lot more handholding for the player. hey, u don't have to loot those lizards and knights anymore, just kill them and u get their stuff. no more "noooo, the lizard fell and i needed that twinkling" which believe it or not was part of the game for me. now it's all like "need twinkling? just buy it at the giant smith" laaaaaame. the game being hard and unforgiving is essential to my experience and farming for a certain titanite is part of that (and remember there is no bladestone anymore, anything can be farmed quite easy using the item ring and sum humanity). nerfing the elemental weapons and fixing the miracle synergy was surely a good move, but everything that makes the game easier in any way made the game less attractive to me. anybody else feel that way?
heeeey gamespot, i'd like to see the stage demo for dark souls II but the link still leads to the live stream (which of course isn't running anymore). can u fix that?
@tkdmmc it's true, the difficulty was nicely balanced in dark souls. they could balance the different classes somewhat better. give dex builds a little more powerful weapons. maybe make archery viable for boss fights and pvp.
it's a shame only they can't get rid of the most annoying and most broken part in dark souls: the lag stab. oh how often have i died through that
u r welcome.. would've been only 3.699.999 without me and let's face it, that would have been a weird number ;)
i had a lot of fun with that game and played it 3,5x in a row when it came out. But now i haven't played it in what seems a long time. maybe i overplayed it. anyone else have that? also i was very disapppointed with 1999 mode because it promised to be "more than just very hard" while in fact it simply was "very hard". i really liked the idea of your choices effecting the gameplay like the idea with the unstable tonics (you'd find a tonic and had to choose between 3 random effects) and was very disappointed they cut that out in favour of the magic clothes. i also thought there wouldn't be any salt in 1999 mode and that each vigor u pick up has a limited number of uses. why else would u find bucking bronco, devil's kiss, shock jockey etc later in the game? to restock ur uses. sadly that wasn't the case. now THAT would've been a nice challenge.
