@i_am_kesmonkey: and Xbox Live has a subscription fee you need to play multiplayer but that doesn't mean you're paying for the free Games With Gold every month. They're FREE with the subscription. EA Access games cost money unless you have a subscription. These games are FREE with EA Access, as stated.

@Reagan2791: I think I just answered my own question by looking at the article here showing games getting the patch and the differences when playing on 1080p. Seems to be better for everything.

I'm an Xbox gamer but there are a couple of upcoming exclusives on PS4 I really want to play (Spider-Man and Detroit: Become Human). Tempted to get a PS4 just for those games and maybe even play some Uncharted.

If I were to get a PS4, I'm torn between snagging a deal on a Slim bundle or opting for the Pro. My tv is only 1080p so I wouldn't benefit as much as those with 4K/HDR sets. But would it still be worth it?

@noshotskill: No, I get that. I didn't buy IW just for MWR though. I want to play the campaign, as I said. I believe they'll offer MWR as a stand alone once initial sales die down, and I won't be surprised to see other past titles remastered and bundled with future installments.

I don't subscribe to the generally accepted belief that they did this to boost IW sales, though. Every year, the new CoD does fine on its own. I believe they did it this way because it made sense, financially. Sell it independently up front and it will have a direct and substantial impact on sales of IW. It doesn't matter what this year's new entry would've been. Putting a remastered favorite out alongside it is just bad business.

CoD restricted it's multiplayer options when they went all in on eSports. I bought the latest entry primarily for the campaign and for MWR. Already finished the TF2 campaign and loved it. Multiplayer is holding my attention, as well.

@livedreamplay: Good summary. Feels like a Mafia game, definitely an improvement over its predecessor and it's enjoyable, but it does get repetitive. Misses the mark in several areas. I wish it had more GTA style features in it, such as your closet full of outfits to unlock and choose from, and so forth, but I like it. From what I've played so far, I would've given it a 7.5.

@wexorian: Doesn't change the fact that it's a damn good game.

@catsimboy: You're right, and it's a shame. People don't realize the potential of TF2. This game is solid and with the right marketing, the Titanfall franchise is the only one out there in the same niche who could take the mantle from CoD. It's the same genre, but for my money, it's better...much better. Just doesn't have the hype surrounding it yet.

The problem for those of us who will buy and play both is that we have to choose which to spend the majority of our time with during the launch phase, where both games are at the height of their popularity. It does make a difference when you can enjoy a game and talk about it while all the buzz is around it. Would've been nice to have a couple of months at least between the two. Almost done with the TF2 campaign and looking forward to diving into multiplayer. BF1 will just have to wait.
