We learned the content of the first 3 dlc drops approx 2 wks prior to their release dates via images of store props leaked online. With it being 3 wks prior to the rumored release date for the final dlc (Aug 30th), it appears Treyarch wanted to beat them to the punch by releasing their own teaser first. Looks interesting, although I'm not a fan of zombies and I hope there is more to it than that.
@Monsterkillah He's close, but not too old yet. He would actually be great in this role, although it may just feel like having Ethan Hunt in a different environment.
I can agree with the majority of this article. I, too, felt that there was a disconnect and lack of meaning when Lara is reminded that she is a "Croft", for example. What does that mean? We know nothing of the history of her family name or why being a Croft should matter. The first kill is impactful, but considering that she becomes a hack and slasher of hundreds of men within days, becoming a badass out of thin air while not suffering any pyschological trauma, felt a bit of a stretch.
I accepted it for being a video game, however, and have enjoyed playing it immensely. There is a redeeming opportunity here, though. I could see a window open to create an origin story which would give weight to her character and family, but I'm not sure how well it could be done as a game.
Hard to know what's going on behind closed doors in a company, but I can understand that frustration. Marketing is everything and you have to be willing to spend more money and promote if you want to make more. That being said, it's entirely possible they had unrealistic expectations for their sales goals. Very few titles, regardless of how good, will obtain Call of Duty and Halo numbers.
