Nothing new. This is the 8th iteration of the Atari Flashback. I don't know why people are acting like this is a first unless they haven't noticed them clogging the shelves at Target every year. Seems to be getting attention due to Nintendo.
Thing is, it looks great in a promo shot but I wouldn't want it in my house. It would stand out like a sore thumb against all my other black and dark wood components. Dust would show up a lot easier too.
Friday the 13th...and they expected a total player base on day one of around 30k users. They should be making enough money for additional game support and content. It's done surprisingly well despite its faults. I would be curious to know what they've made on it so far.
Nintendo isn't concerned with 3rd party titles. They want their hardware customers purchasing their software, too. It's unfortunate because if they actually made a system that was powerful enough to support the AAA 3rd party games out there as well as play all of their games, it could be the ultimate console. That's not what they want, though.
