I came up with this after about three days of researching:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/GreenvaleXYZ/saved/3w96

I consider this expensive; I normally buy pretty low-end stuff. I think I'm going to pass on the PS4 and Xbox One. I have a ton of older systems, and I have a Wii U, which I love, but I want a machine that's going to get me through the next 2-3 years on, I guess, medium to high settings for standard big releases, and just anything that floats my way and catches my eye. I love indies, might even get Star Citizen ( I'll get more RAM if I need to).

See any conflicts, or just dumb choices? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pretty solid rig, good job - smart move you went for the 4Gb version of the GTX760 if you're planning on more than 1 screen or 4k monitor.

If you're gonna go high end with your monitor(s) then you should go high end with your card aswell, 760 is a midrange card.

Rings and playoff wins mean little to me. Andy Dalton, for all his faults, has delivered three solid years of quarterbacking for the Bengals, but has played three shit playoff games. Should bad performances in three games really outweigh solid performances in 48 others? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Same with Warren Moon. Never even got to a conference championship, but he delivered top five QB play for the better part of a decade. Should his failures in a few playoff games really stand above 10 years of quarterbacking excellence?

The playoffs are one game, and it's stupid that one bad loss outweighs 16 great games. Sometimes a guy just has a bad day, and sometimes it comes in the playoffs. Shit happens, not going to rip apart some QB legend because his bad games happened to come at crucial times. It's why I think Dan Marino is the greatest quarterback who ever lived.

Andy Dalton also stinks in the regular season, his great team just tends to hide his deficiencies.

Save 100$ on the CPU with a 4670k and put that money in a better GPU.

And what would be a better gpu? The GTX 770?

A 650 is really weak. Buy whatever you can afford for the GPU, because it's the most important part of any gaming PC. Also make sure to get a decent PSU.

Yeah you're probably right. I was just trying to keep the cost below $1000

I was planning on mainly playing Flight Simulator X on it and I heard that was a very CPU intensive game rather than GPU for good frame rates.

Even CPU heavy games don't really benefit from an i7 at this point. You'll get more mileage out of a better GPU.

For the RAM, have a dual channel 2 x 4GB set instead of a single 8 GB. For the GPU get a 760 with 2 GB for cheaper or a 770 with 2 GB for around the same price. It really doesn't make sense to get that extra VRAM when 1080p monitors won't use it and you should get a R9 290 or a 780 at the minimum if you plan to play on a 1440p monitor instead anyway. The rest looks fine to me.

There's people out there willing to buy 1000$ cards. So I guess they'll just keep releasing those.

Montana had the luxury of having both the caliber of weapons Peyton has had and the defense Brady had during his super bowl runs. In today's game they wouldn't have been able to keep all of these players more than a few years. I consider both Peyton and Brady to have had more impressive careers. And talking about shitty Super Bowl interceptions, here's the Montanma one that never was:`http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJFOBI1cZaM That alone could've changed people's perspective on Montana forever. But because it was dropped, nobody will mention it in the history books.

You're right he didn't, but Montana also had much tougher rules (Read: not a pussy league) when he was QBing. Also, all QBs have big drops from defensive players. Nothing new, but I see what you mean.

So if Peyton's interception gets dropped instead and then goes on to win another Super Bowl, which is something completely out of his control, all of sudden he's a better QB? Do you realize how stupid that logic is?'

Seems kind of narrow though. You could find moments in most every elite quarterbacks carer that effected the number of titles they won (or didn't win)? By the same token how do we view the Brady/Manning debate if the Patriots don't collapse in the 2006 AFCCG, something neither QB had total control over. Super Bowl victories are team efforts and a pretty narrow view of thing and all, clearly Trent Dilfer isn't better than Dan Marino. That being said I don't think it's unfair to look at individual performance, without nitpicking or dwelling on specific moments, and evaluating it's impact on the games in question to form part of the argument.

What the hell are you talking about, I'm criticizing the idea that team success shouldn't be attributed to the QB as much it's now.
