Monkey is basically saying he has the arm for a top 5 guy, but he needs to get his shit together. Less flat feet, side arm, and all that stuff. He can make some extremely difficult throws look routine. Hell Cutler has a cannon, but if he flat foots it it is a disaster. And Stafford has a canon and I've seen him throw some flat footed touchdowns. It's the mental side of the game he's severely lacking on.

If that part of his game ever got there with the weapons he had, yes he could be a top 5 guy. I think the key words here are "could" and "if he can learn those fundamentals".

Matt Stafford has so much base arm talent, but some of the worst mechanics I've ever seen in a QB. I rarely see him throw from a solid platform. He's always side arming some pass as he falls backwards on one foot. Thing is, half the time, he still gets it there because his arm is so strong. I'm thinking the Caldwell hire was solely because he is a QB guy, and they're hoping he can teach Stafford some fundamentals. Stafford will be a top five guy if he can learn those fundamentals.

I have no investment in Brady failing. I do have investment in Manning failing. Hence the soul crushing, game criplling, why the **** did you throw THAT?

Brady throws one of those and it's joyful.

But Broncos v 49ers could be awesome. You know. Until the soul crushing, game crippling, why the **** did you throw THAT? interception by Peyton Manning with the game on the line.

Defense sucks. They didn't exactly play a bunch of tough teams. Who were the two best teams they played all season? Colts and Patriots. What happened? They lost. Not convinced at all.

And I don't know, I think Brady is good enough to give seattle a run. I think that would be a good game.
