I get your point... I remember something like that where a religion forbode organ doning so a little girl died even though her life could have easily been saved.

the pope is just saying that cause well lets face it hes out of touch with the modern world.. im not really gonna try and defend him cause i didint agree with him being selected. im not exactly a devout catholic eitehr...

muppet1010

Well I don't think religion should get a pass just because its part of their beliefs.

A buddy of mine can max it out

Sli 8800Ultra
3gb RAM Patriot i think
QX6800 @ 3.4ghz
Ageia PhysX Card
K1 Killer Card
750W Corsair PSU
Liquid cooling
Cooler Master Stacker 800 case

He has no problems

bluebusiness

Considering the max resolution is something like 2560x3800 I consider that unlikely...

OKAY GOOD NEWS

I bought a Geforce 8800 GTS 320mb ram, cost more of course, but I might as well, was going to get GTX, but too much money, the guy said it's pointless at my resolution, he also said my processor is holding me back, looks like I'll be getting a processor next.

silversurfergold

I'm sorry man but I have to say it..thats the worst possible choise of the ones presented to you (except the 8600GTS).

LOL at the comments against his faith. let him believe what he wants, ok?

darkIink

I don't believe faith-based paranoia is a positive thing, nor that it should be tolerated.

And robbing kids of there innocents by saying there is no god isn't a negative effect?

woow

Boogie_J

THEY DID IT, THEY FINALLY DID IT! A CHRISTIAN ADMITTED GOD IS JUST LIKE SANTA CLAUS AND THE EASTER BUNNY!

*cough* Sorry bout that, but you may want to rephrase it. People are free to talk on either side of the issue here and we are free to reject either side of it. Furthermore any truly impressionable children don't belong on here to begin with (its explicitly forbidden under the TOS).

By saying that no god exists opens the floodgate to the durgs, the sex, the alcohol, and all the other pleasures

Boogie_J

Oh Lord (Satan)! Either this guy is a fakeboy or I clearly haven't been as deep into the Bible Belt as I thought I have been.

P.S. Amen Pastor Hammer!

Yeah you are full of it there, they thought you weren't worth bothering with or possibly you were subconsciously stereotyping them based upon appearance and they harbored you absolutely no ill will. Hows them potatos?

[QUOTE="RichterBelmont7"]If anything Catholics don't take enough heat, the Pope is indirectly responsible for deaths in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands..and thats one single issue in one single region.muppet1010

so how did the current pope kill tens of thouhsands (of hundreds!? o.0) of people???

If you consistently and thoroughly support a policy that forbids use of a disease prevention measure (which is what condoms are in this circumstance) then if the person who you are demanding this of then contracts said disease and dies from it, you then share responsibility for their death by having forbidden them access to the things they needed to prevent it.

Lets say theres a particularly virulent pandemic and this person's family has it..now lets say this person's culture states that they should be around their sick loved ones and you refuse to provide them with a vaccine to keep them from contracting the disease even though it is readily available and inexpensive. DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT share blame in their deaths if they die from it?

and im not sure what you mean "set up a wireless network securely", changin a WEP code isnt that hard.

but i also got a question to someone who posted above, do you really need a router when you have a cable coming right into your room, don't you just need a modem?

zaman48

YE GODS! WEP is utterly and ENTIRELY worthless, do you know how ineffective WEP is? Theres some thought out there that it isn't even any better than having no encryption at all, WPA is better and WPA2 better still but by their very nature wireless networks are less secure than wired networks, just as networks running off copper are less secure than those running off of fiber-optics.

If you are using WEP you are asking for it. Don't believe me? Ask T.J. Maxx about it.

Thats a good part of the problem, people think that by using WEP and maybe turning off SSID broadcasts (which does virtually nothing also BTW) they are safe, thats really not the case.

[QUOTE="RichterBelmont7"]Once I'm sure theres no problems with their Linux drivers..Marfoo

Their next Linux driver release is supposed to be open sourced and add a lot of functionality that Linux users have had to go elsewhere to find.

Yeah, I really want an HD 3870, I wanted an HD 2900, but didn't want to have to get a new PSU.

I've been tracking their plans pretty closely and while their drivers have improved tons theres still lots of problems with video, compiz, etc. the news was not that they would open-source their drivers but that they would open source lots of the GPU specifications and deliver better drivers. They have but unfortunately they are still a bit behind Nvidia and Intel as far as support goes.

The sheer performance is great, in fact the Linux drivers have been outpacing the Windows ones as far as performance goes in some things, but video playback and the other problems brought up by myself and others need a solution.
