Well theres a couple of options. First of all you could get a hella long network cable and connect the computer directly to the router in the other room (would require that the wires be covered also to protect them from damage).
Instead of that you could call your ISP and see if you can get a connection wired up in the other room also. There may be some additional fees, equipment, etc. required..I don't really know for sure.
P.S. Those suggesting wireless, hes already rejected that idea. Aside from the dubious viability of sending a wireless signal through 150 feet of household electronic signals and walls, very few people can set up a wireless network securely in any case.
Whats the difference between the GA-MA69GM-S2H and the GA-M61P-S3. They are the exact same price too...I'm very new to AMD. suetracy
The S2H has a PCI-E x4 connector but no PCI-E x1 connectors and fewer PCI connectors, it also has DVI, S/PDIF and HDMI while the S3 does not. It kind of comes down to how much you value those extra two PCI slots (which are nice, but hardly essential). I'm not exactly a fan of Micro-ATX to begin with, but the S2H is the board I would pick if I had to choose.
Opinions?[QUOTE="suetracy"]bump. any other opinions here please?Indestructible2
Its a SIMPLE FACT that AMD CPU's don't work in Intel Boards and Intel CPU's don't work in AMD boards :|
Well that entirely depends on the boards in question. ;)
Really? Is it not that good, it's the best card my store carries right now, otherwise I'm gonna have to order something in from the net. silversurfergold
Thats what you should really do unless you need it right away anyways. You typically end up spending less online (less overhead for the e-tailers). Also I'll recommend the HD3850 as well. Its the best you can do without breaking the $200 mark.
personally i think the CPU is holding you back more than that videocard u have atm, if u could u should OC it.theshadowhunter
Naw...the 7600GT is the mid-range card of a few years ago thats his real problem here and the 8600GT isn't going to help matters much there. Most games are GPU limited not CPU limited after all..
There are two preconditions for it to even become a possibility:
1) Let me use my own hardware
2) Bring the freaking price down
Otherwise its just proprietary, expensive, hardware-specific Linux/BSD. The Gnome interface is pretty much the Mac interface.
