I have a Acer AL1916W and frankly the color contrast is almost painful at points..I'm not sure if this is a TN or not, but if it is then the viewing angles have greatly increased, I can even stand almost directly over it and read things on the screen sometimes (granted poorly, but I can do it).

So while I certainly wouldn't mind a different panel its been serving me well enough for the past six months.

HDTVs have an HD tuner inside, HD Ready just means they are CAPABLE of displaying HD, but they don't have any kind of tuner included so you'll need to get an external HD tuner or set top box to watch HD broadcasts or movies on it.

Also if you ever see an EDTV don't buy it, EDTV is high quality than SD but lower than HD thus Enhanced-Definition.

Maybe if the computer is still on when you do it, but otherwise it shouldn't occur. Also I can probably tell you what would happen right now. What it would do is boot into the HDD that comes earlier in the boot device order and the other would show up as an additional drive under the other OS.

Graphics card is the major bottleneck, however, You should get a larger harddrive too.Luminouslight

Yep, HDDs are all the bottlenecks in a system now (or at least will be once USB 3.0 comes out), theres not enough practical benefit to the Raptor X for it to justify costing as much as a 750GB drive.

P.S. In place of a GTX, consider two 8800GTs or HD3870s, they will both outperform an 8800GTX and cost less.

JUST GET AN 8800GT... and no offense richter, but the 8800gt takes out any current ati card. besides many games dont have crossfire support.. so SLI is the way to go and whats better than 8800gt's in SLI... yeahh,,, nothing.. (well ultras for uber rich people.. but otherwise...)

kelectron

Hes not talking SLIed 8800GT, hes talking a single card and at the price point the HD3870 is a better value presently than the supply constrained (and as such, more expensive than it should be) 8800GT. The 8800GT IS better, but not by a longshot and as such for between $30-80 cheaper its a card that should seriously be considered, especially considering the lower noise levels and energy draw.

i would suggest an 8800GT or a HD3870 both are great cards...yoyo462001

Yep, the 8800GT if you really want the best performance, but the HD3870 if you don't mind roughly 10% worse performance for a much better price (although the 3870 actually beats the 8800 in some things with Beta drivers which is just insane).

Now if they would just release problem-free drivers I might buy one...theres still too many issues with ATI drivers for me to reasonably consider them.

Opterons are really more designed with servers in mind as for which would run faster, they are about the same but the Opteron has more L2 cache and should overclock better.
