@FumikoM @RoadStar1602 What you are doing right now is called Psychological Projection. Basically, that's when you ascribe a negative thing are doing onto someone else. In other words, you do something but say someone else is doing it. It's a defense mechanism that people use subconsciously. Absolutely no one in this forum is agreeing with you, so you are becoming very defensive. You know you have lost the argument, so now you are protecting your ego by projecting the way you are behaving onto me.
Don't take it so seriously. You were wrong. No big deal. Move on. It's not even like you were wrong about anything important.
@FumikoM @RoadStar1602 @PrpleTrtleBuBum Sorry, but you are still wrong. Would you prefer the term "cook?" Once in a while, I fry a hamburger. That does not make me a cook. Sometimes I mow the lawn. That does not make me a landscaper. Sometimes I go swimming, but that doesn't make me a swimmer. Currently I am writing. That does not make me a writer.
@FumikoM @RoadStar1602 I know more about gaming history than you ever will, and the fact that I do has absolutely nothing to do with the subject. You are reaching now, because you are starting to realize that everybody disagrees with you and you don't want to admit being wrong. In the 90's I was playing games like Daggerfall, Betrayal at Krondor, Diablo and Stonekeep. The fact that it's 2013 now has absolutely nothing to do with those NOT being casual games, and nobody except you would consider them casual games simply because they are over 20 years old. The age of the game has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not it is a casual game. Thank you for your comments.
@PrpleTrtleBuBum @FumikoM @RoadStar1602 Exactly. Every once in a while, I have no choice but to throw a frozen dinner in the microwave or fry some eggs in order to survive. That does not make me a chef.
@FumikoM @RoadStar1602 The article makes the assumptions, not I. The article assumes that anyone who ever plays a game on an electronic device is a gamer. That is simply not the case. My 68 year old Dad plays solitaire on the computer sometimes, but he is no gamer.
@MatrixGamer78 You are confusing "hardcore gaming" with "competitive gaming." The two are not interchangeable. Because you don't play in tournaments does not mean you're not a hardcore gamer.
@FumikoM @RoadStar1602 You are certainly entitled to express your opinion, but women (and men) who only play Bejeweled and Farmville are not gamers. Sorry.
This is true only because of casual games on Facebook and smart phones. I don't consider people who play Facebook and smart phone games to be "gamers." If they only considered PC and console games, then the number would be tilted overwhelmingly toward males. This is not a biased statement in any way. It's just the way things are. Personally, I'd love to see more female gamers, and I think we are slowly seeing more and more of them. When I was a kid, there were practically zero.
@BryanParksSuper Exactly. This company was way too ambitious for a start-up, and Rhode Island supplied them with the cash that allowed them to bite off way more than they could chew. Is there something wrong with starting small and working your way up, like every other company that ever succeeded?
