I got The Old Republic for Christmas. I tried to play some yesterday, got into the menu, but couldn't get into any of the servers. I assume the servers were just overloaded. Now I can't even get TO the game's menu. It just sits in a load screen, then the game crashes. It brings up an error message that says

ABORT: Pointer is NULL (.\emu-core.c/3243)

I don't know how to fix this. I don't have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to PCs. However, my PC can run this game (I can run Crysis maxed). I tried disabling my firewall, as well as adding the launcher.exe file to the excluded list. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

I guess should I just go to ATI's website to get them? Also, I have two graphics cards, does the game support crossfire?

I saw it on sale somewhere, and wanted to know which platform it's best on right now. I have a pc that can run it, but if it's still extremely glitchy then I'll pass. Have they fixed the glitches on the pc version? What do you guys think? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ya know, excluding Kinect completely, the 360 had all of the multiplatform games, it had some solid Arcade games, it had Gears, Halo Anniversary, and Forza. The Wii has Zelda. That's it, and for a long time, we weren't even sure Zelda was going to come out this year. So why have we spent all year talking about this, when the Wii has had pretty much NOTHING.

I agree that his comments were somewhat contradictory, however I'm happy that he pointed out some of the things that could be better (I feel that other reviewers haven't done a very good job of that stuff). In this review, what I got from it was that he was saying that at it's low points, the design is bland, at it's best (and as a whole) it's got some of the best design in the series. Ultimately, I think he gave it the score because, despite all of the things that could have been better, the gameplay was great. He specifically said "gameplay trumps all"...I'm not really intending to defend him, but that's what I got from watching that review.

As I've already stated, I haven't tried the campaign yet. I realize that I'm comparing linear campaigns to large scale open multiplayer maps. However, while I think it's worth noting, I still don't think that the game looks as good as it could have. I think it, at times, is very simplistic, and sometimes bland. This certainly wasn't intended to be a "Bash Battlefield" kind of thread, but I'm glad that it wasn't just me. All of my friends were telling me how amazing they think the multiplayer (on the 360 version) looks. I need to try the campaign sometime to get the full picture.

This game was sort of hyped to be a "Graphics King" among console games. After playing a few hours of multiplayer (haven't tried the campaign yet), I'm not as impressed by the game as I thought I'd be. I don't by any means think the game looks bad, but I also don't think it is on the same level as games like Gears of War 3, Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, God of War 3, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2 etc. I actually think in a lot of ways, Bad Company 2 looks better, though I can acknowledge that might be a result of the variety of the visuals combined with a great color pallette. What I'm curious to know is, am I alone in that or are there others that agree? What're your thoughts system wars?

Let me just start by saying that if I'm excited for a game, I don't see why I should have to justify myself to anyone. Secondly, Oblivion was a GOTY contender on most sites, and won it in some. Third, Oblivion got a 9.6 here on gamespot.

Oblivion still to this day has one of the deepest, most interesting worlds in gaming IMO. It had tons of side quests, many of which had interesting twists, ESPECIALLY the guilds.

However, what I just said is strictly my opinion, but if you're asking where the hype is coming from, just look at first part of what I said. Also, in regards to Bethesda's lies or whatever, almost everything they've promised would be in this game, they've already shown off. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but nobody should have to explain why they have it.

I have Gears of War 3, and I want to back up my save file. It doesn't allow me to do so, at least onto a usb drive. What I was wondering, was are all the mutators and things like that linked to my hard drive, or my gamertag?
