25% of My Summer Gaming Goals COMPLETED!

Hey everyone! As of a few moments ago, I just got 1000/1000 on Call of Duty 4's Achievements. Beating the game on Veteran wasn't TOO hard; the only parts that I got really frustrated at were the following (in order from least frustrating to most frustrating):

- The end of "One Shot, One Kill," where you had to hold out and wait for the chopper to arrive. I eventually figured out how to get into that one area in the apartment building which you can use as a bottleneck to pick off the enemy troops that come in the doorway, so that wasn't too bad.

- "No Fighting in the War Room," where I had to make my way through the corridors picking off all those enemies and avoiding getting hit. The corridor right before Gaz opens the vault doors for you was the most annoying, because you have enemies shooting at you from behind those boxes in front of you, and then there are two hallways on either side of you that you're supposed to use to gain access to the area behind the boxes, which both have enemies shooting at you. I figured out a sequence of throwing a flashbang in one, followed by a quick M203 grenade would take care of one, then doing the same to the other and advancing down that one does the trick.

- "Mile High Club" surprisingly, wasn't the most frustrating for me. I saw a video that showed me the exact way to finish it on time through a series of knifings, flashbangs, spraying and praying, and reloading behind cover. I'd say I probably attempted this a hundred times before I finally got it; it's really brutal because if you make one mistake, you're dead. So it was probably a combination of me doing what the guy in the video did, and luck. But this didn't take me anywhere near as long as this next one.

- The end of "Heat" was the most brutal, because I tried SO MANY different approaches to get to the LZ without getting killed, but it took me about 3 hours to get lucky enough to call in airstrikes at just the right locations and duck and cover at just the right times, along with sprinting as much as I could to finally make it there.

So my first category of summer gaming goals (Get 1000/1000 Achievements on 2 of those games) is complete! I know I said my next goal after getting 100% of the achievements on BlackSite: Area 51 was to beat Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, but I was playing CoD4 multiplayer one day, and then I just sortof thought, "How hard can the Veteran campaign be?" And so I gave it a shot, and stuck to it. But now that I'm done with that category of goals, I can move on.

Next Goal: Beat Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Xbox)

So that's it for right now guys! Have fun enjoying your summer!

Got One of My Goals Done Already, and a Bonus!

Yep, as of a few minutes ago, I completed all of the the achievements for Blacksite: Area 51.

And the bonus is that while I was in the process of doing this over the past 2 weeks, there was a lot of down time for me having to wait to people to join the games since there was a minimum player requirement of 4 people in a ranked match.

So, I decided to pick up my PSP, blow off the dust, and make some progress on Medal of Honor Heroes, since I only had like 6 missions left. And so 2 days ago I beat the final mission in the game. Overall, it was a good circa-8 hour PSP game, and it will definitely keep you entertained if you're bored (like I was).

So after I beat that, I popped in Medal of Honor Heroes 2, and though I'm only on the 4th mission, I can already tell that they made some big improvements, namely the regenerating health, the checkpoint system, and the ability to have two primary weapons which make the game a lot easier and less frustrating. Plus the score contains more of the music from the original games, which is great. I like the way the mission briefings are layed out in this one too.

By the way, here's my impressions/mini-review for Blacksite: Area 51. The story's decent, but not phenomenal. The graphics are a little above average, but not quite as good as Call of Duty 4. The sounds are alright. The replay value is moderate because the multiplayer is a little fun, and the achievements are really easy to get. So yeah, 9.0/10 for me.

Also, could someone please tell me how to have multiple graphics in my blog header? Because I've tried inserting the mygamercard.net BB Code in there right after my Runner's World picture, but when I hit "accept changes" or whatever, it refreshes the window and the "blog header" box where the code is supposed to go turns blank. Can someone please help me with this? If you do, it will be much appreciated.

Next Goal: Beat Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (Xbox)

That's all for now, everybody! Have a good one!

Summer Gaming Goals

Sup everyone, just wanted to give an update as to what I'm gonna try to accomplish this summer as far as games go. I haven't really had a whole lot of time to play/beat all the games I wanted to during the school year, so now that I'm out for summer, I'm gonna be pretty much gaming like crazy whenever I'm not training for Cross Country. Anyway, without further ado, here they are!

Get 100% of the achievements on at least 2 of these games
Blacksite: Area 51 (Currently have 645/1000)
Call of Duty 4 (450/1000) - The only achievements I have left for this are all the missions on Veteran difficulty
Grand Theft Auto IV (415/1000)
Halo 3 (615/1000)

Beat at least 4 of these Xbox/PS2 games
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (PS2)
James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (Xbox)
Medal of Honor: European Assault (Xbox)
Need for Speed Most Wanted (Xbox)
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (Xbox)
SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS2)
SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS2)
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Combined Assault (PS2)
Star Wars Republic Commando (Xbox)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 (Xbox)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike (Xbox)
Tony Hawk's Underground (Xbox)

Beat both of these games for sure
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (Xbox)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Xbox 360)

Anyway, that's it. I'm off to go work on getting some of that done. Peace.

SUMMER!!!! (Big Update Blog)

Hey guys, I took my last exam today, and now I'm halfway through high school. I don't have to go to school to take exams tomorrow which is technically the last day of school because I exempted both of those exams, which basically means I get an extra day of summer vacation. I've been playing a lot of games since my last real update blog, which was like about 3 months ago. By the way, I quit band cl@ss because I hated it, and the only reason I was in the cl@ss was so I could be in marching band. However, I lost interest in marching band, and so now instead of that, I'm taking a Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice cl@ss whcih should be...interesting, to say the least. And instead of marching band, I'm going to try out for the Cross Country team in the fall, thanks to my track teammates from this past season convincing me to do so. Which brings me to why I changed my blog banner from that Drum Corps picture to the Runner's World logo.

Anyway, so I made this deal with my parents that if I made straight A's for this semester, they'd buy me a game. And I looked online today when I got home, and sure enough, it turns out I did make straight A's. So I went with my mom after school to Best Buy to go get a game, and the game I chose was Call of Duty 4 Game of the Year Edition for Xbox 360 (more on that later in the blog). While we were there, I decided to also buy my brother his college graduation present from me which was Assassin's Creed for PS3. And I decided to buy BlackSite Area 51 with my own money since I've been wanting that for a while. Anyway, here's all the games that I've played/beaten since my last real update blog in February.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas for Xbox 360 - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas Xbox360 Game - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas Xbox 360 Video Game
I bought this when I first bought my 360, and beat it within a couple days. It was a pretty cool game; a worthy addition to the Tom Clancy franchise. It's got a decent story, nice graphics, good sound, great gameplay, and fun multiplayer. The only thing I didn't like was that although fun, the multiplayer is kindof hard to get into for a beginner. But yeah, overall, it's a really good game. Definitely pick it up now if you haven't already.

Condemned: Criminal Origins for Xbox 360 - Condemned: Criminal Origins Xbox360 Game - Condemned: Criminal Origins Xbox 360 Video Game
This game I got a few weeks after I bought my 360. I beat in in about 9 hours, but man, were those 9 hours great. The game itself was SO atmospheric; I really felt like I was an FBI detective investigating crimes. I mean, the story, graphics, sound, gameplay, and everything made it so realistic, especially for a launch title. It made me really look forward to playing Condemned 2.

Perfect Dark Zero for Xbox 360 - Perfect Dark Zero Xbox360 Game - Perfect Dark Zero Xbox 360 Video Game
I got this around the same time I got Condemned, and finished it a few weeks after. I wasn't too big on this game; it didn't really impress me much. I mean, the graphics, sound, and gameplay were alright, but the storyline was something I'd expect from a B action movie. And then the multiplayer wasn't that great either, the whole one match that I was able to find, anyway.

BioShock for Xbox 360 - BioShock Xbox360 Game - BioShock Xbox 360 Video Game
This was yet another game bought in the first bunch of games when I initially bought my Xbox 360. I had heard such great things about it, so I was pretty pumped for it. However, I wanted to pretty much sit down and play it all at one time, so that's basically what I did by waiting until my Spring Break to play it. I beat it in like 2 days. All I have to say is...this is probably the biggest letdown for me ever. I mean, why were people so amazed by it? I mean, it had good graphics and decent sound, but in my opinion that's ALL it had going for it. That stupid hacking crap got on my nerves real fast. Then those dumb "Big Daddies" seemed to be able to take innumerable hits before they went down. And just the entire story was weird. Some guy thought he was going to be cool and make an underground city, then experiment with gene splicing. BORING... I'm sorry, call me what you will, but this game was a huge disappointment for me.

Battlefield 2: Complete Collection for PC - Battlefield 2: Complete Collection PC Game - Battlefield 2: Complete Collection Computer Game
I've had the original Battlefield 2 for a long time and thought it was great, but I never got around to getting the expansion/booster packs. So, I sold BF2 to my friend and bought this online over Spring Break. It's pretty good; the Special Forces maps are really neat. However, after I installed everything and tryed to play on the servers running the Euro Force or Armored Fury maps, it said something like I have to purchase them, even though I already did and installed everything. But I'll eventually get around to calling EA and asking them about it next time I want to play those maps and I get that message.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox 360 - Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Xbox360 Game - Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Xbox 360 Video Game
I got this the same time I got the BF2: Complete Collection. I really like it; the graphics are nice, the guns and vehicles sound great, the gameplay is pretty fluid, the multiplayer is a blast, and easy to get in to, and the achievements are pretty easy to get. This and BF2 Complete Collection will satisfy my Battlefield fix until Bad Company comes out.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow for Xbox - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow Xbox Game - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow Xbox Video Game
I've had this for about 2 years now, but when I first got it, I was stuck on like the second mission or something. So, over Spring Break, I decided to give it another go, and started over. Sure enough, I beat the mission I was stuck on, and got pretty far into the game, and then beat it the following weekend. This was a stealth action game that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the first one, and this one was even better. For an Xbox game, the graphics, sound, and gameplay were all good, especially the stealth action moves, and the story was amazing. I loved the whole jungle setting, and then LAX for the final level. Definitely one of my favorite original Xbox games.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for Xbox - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Xbox Game - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Xbox Video Game
I've had this for a couple months, but only started playing it after I beat Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. I've only beaten the first level, but so far, it's phenomenal. Definitely the best graphics I've seen on an original Xbox game in a long time, at least. More on this in the future, probably once I've beaten it.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent for Xbox 360 - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent Xbox360 Game - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent Xbox 360 Video Game
A little while after beating Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, I remembered that my friend had this game. I asked him about it, and he said he never played it, so I asked him if I could buy it from him, and I ended up buying it from him for $20. I haven't played it yet, but I plan to after I beat Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360 - Grand Theft Auto IV Xbox360 Game - Grand Theft Auto IV Xbox 360 Video Game
Ah, yes. The big kahuna. All I have to say about this is that it's amazing. And the neat thing is, I wasn't really even psyched for this to come out. However, when April 30th rolled around, and everyone started talking about it, and GameSpot gave it a Perfect 10, and my brother got it for PS3, and called me to tell me from across the country to tell me about how awesome it was, I was convinced to go ahead and buy it. So I went out and bought it 2 days after it came out. And then I was hooked. That's basically the only game that was in my Xbox 360 from then up until now. I beat it 2 weekends ago, and I have to say, (I'm positive you already know this, but I'll say it anyway) IT'S AWESOME!!!! I love EVERYTHING about it. Need I say more?

BlackSite: Area 51 for Xbox 360 - BlackSite: Area 51 Xbox360 Game - BlackSite: Area 51 Xbox 360 Video Game
Like I said, I bought this today. But I haven't gotten to play it at all yet. I'll update you guys with impressions later on.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for Xbox 360 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Xbox360 Game - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Xbox 360 Video Game
As I stated earlier, my mom bought this (actually the Game of the Year Edition) for me today since I made straight A's for this semester. And, I've already told some of you the reason why I own two copies of this game, but for those of you who I haven't told, I'll just tell you now. Back in December, everyone was talking about this game, so I asked for it for Christmas for the PC (I didn't have a 360 until February), and I got it. I loved it. However, all my friends have it for the 360, and I wanted to be able to play with them. Plus, I wanted the new maps, and the achievements. I haven't gotten to play it yet though, but I'll update you with impressions.

Anyway, that's all, guys! Take it easy!

The Decision Has Been Made...

...by a unanimous vote, it was GTA IV, so I went by Wal-Mart today after school and got it. And so far, it's really good. Why am I still typing this blog and not playing it right now?

So, I'm in This Dilemma...

Yeah, this is one of those blogs where I need opinions on what to get, but I only have $60...yeah, you know the drill.

1. Call of Duty 4 GOTY Edition (Xbox 360) - I have this for the PC cause I got it for PC for Christmas (I didn't get a 360 till February), but the problem is, all my friends have it for the 360, so I can't really play it with them.

2. Grand Theft Auto IV - At first, I was going to wait until my birthday (August) or Christmas to get this game. However, both the fact that my brother got it for PS3 yesterday (he lives on the other side of the country, so that's why I can't just try it out for myself) and told me that it's a really good game, and it's receiving of a perfect 10.0 from GameSpot have made me want to get this a whole lot more. However, I remember one time, a few years back when I rented San Andreas for the Xbox after playing it on the PS2 at my friend's house, the controls were terrible: you had to use the right trigger to go forward in a vehicle, or something stupid like that, which leads me to my question for the 360 owners of GTA IV: have they changed this so that I can hold down A to accelerate in a vehicle, or do I still have to hold down the right trigger? And if so, is the control scheme customizable?

3. 1600 Microsoft Point Card and put the rest towards Battlefield: Bad Company - Part of me also wants to get the new maps for Halo 3 and save up for Battlefield: Bad Company.

So that's it, guys. Tell me what you think I should get.

Potential Halo Movie Casts (Joke Cast and Serious Cast)

Hey guys, I was kindof bored, so I decided to make this blog. It's basically just what actors I think would be good for the roles in the Halo movie, if they ever made one, and my joke cast just for kicks and giggles.

Serious Cast:
Master Chief - Just have some random stunt guy go through his motions and then use the guy who did his voice in the games as the voice.
Arbiter Voice - Whoever did it in the games
Sergeant Johnson - Samuel L. Jackson
Lord Hood - Tommy Lee Jones
Commander Keyes - Harrison Ford (with the right haircut)
Miranda Keyes - Natalie Portman
Foehammer Voice - Whoever dit it in the games
Cortana - Keep her hologram/voice the same as in the games
Random Soldier - Bruce Willis
Random Soldier - Russell Crowe

Joke Cast:
Master Chief
- Tobey Maguire
Arbiter Voice - Vin Diesel
Sergeant Johnson - Chris Rock
Lord Hood - Al Pacino
Commander Keyes - Jack Nicholson
Miranda Keyes - Megan Fox
Foehammer Voice - Queen Latifah
Cortana - Ellen DeGeneres
Random Soldier - Danny DeVito
Random Soldier - Keanu Reeves

There you have it, guys! My casts for the Halo movie! I'd like to hear your thoughts and additions, if you got them.

My Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2008

Sup guys, I know it's kindof late in comparison to everyone else's, but I just now felt like doing it, so yeah. Basically what I did was go through my tracked games list and find any that had the number 2008 anywhere in the release date, and then ranked the top 10. So here it is.

10. Midnight Club: Los Angeles
9. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2
8. Far Cry 2
7. Killzone 2
6. Halo Wars
5. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
4. Tom Clancy's EndWar
3. Condemned 2: Bloodshot
2. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
1. Battlefield: Bad Company

Honorable Mention:
Gears of War 2
Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy
SOCOM: Confrontation
Saboteur
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Tomb Raider: Underworld

Yeah guys, don't hate just cause Gears 2 wasn't on the top 10. Personally, they only reason it's even on the honorable mention list for me is because the single player/coop campaign was fun. I absolutely HATED the multiplayer, just cause it's not easy for newcomers such as myself to get into it and have fun and be good at it.

Anyway, yeah. That's it.

Lovin' My 360/Four Games Beaten Already!

Hey guys. I reached level 30 on GameSpot today. But I'm actually here to talk about my 360, as you've probably guessed from the blog title. Ever since I've gotten my 360, it's all I've been playing since then. Heck, I've already beaten 4 games and gotten 1010 gamerscore to prove it. Granted, I've had this entire week off, which is basically perfect timing for me to get my 360, so I've really been enjoying it.

Halo 3
Yeah so this is the first game I popped into my 360 once I got everything set up, and let me tell you (as if you didn't know already), this is awesome. Absolutely phenomenal. I beat the campaign on Saturday within 24 hours of me starting it on Friday, and it was a blast. It's definitely a fitting end to the Halo Trilogy, although the ending is a bit confusing, but once you get it, you'll just be awestruck. And then the multiplayer is really fun too; I've been playing a good bit with Frankthelizard and Ish, and my friend from school, so I've had a lot of fun with it so far.

Gears of War
After I beat Halo 3 and played the multiplayer some, I started Gears of War on Saturday night and beat Act 1. Then, on Sunday, I beat Acts 2 and 3 by myself, and got through Acts 4 and 5 on Co-op with my friend from school that night. I haven't gotten to play any of the multiplayer modes yet (besides co-op, of course), but I plan on doing some of that in the near future after I've played a good bit of the rest of my 360 games. Anyway, I can definitely see why everyone loves this game so much. All of the action is intense, it's got spectacular graphics, cool sounds, and an amazing storyline. Now, after viewing the Gears of War 2 teaser trailer on Xbox Live (like the rest of the Xbox Live/GameSpot community), I'm pretty pumped for the sequel to come out, cause like I said, I really enjoyed this game.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
On Sunday night, I started this game up and beat the first level or so. Then, I spent what time I could on Monday getting a lot of progress done, and then I beat the last 3 missions on Tuesday morning. I have to say, for an early 360 title, I'm definitely impressed. I've always been a fan of the Ghost Recon franchise, and I was just blown away by the graphics, gameplay, and storyline of this game. The tactical nature of the gameplay forces you to utilize cover whenever possible and position your squadmates carefully. In this sense, it's very realistic, and that was just playing on the normal difficulty. As a direct result of this, I found myself getting killed frequently and having to tactically assess the situation and approach it from a more realistic standpoint instead of just charging in like Rambo. Anyway, definitely pick this game up if you haven't already; it's only like $20 I think, and it's well worth it if you're into tactical shooters.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
On Tuesday, after I beat GRAW, since I just loved the game so much, I went out and bought this for $30 at Best Buy. I played it some that night, and got about a third of the way through the game, and then I spent a decent amount of time today playing it, and I just beat it tonight. It's pretty solid; I gave it the same score that I gave GRAW. It's basically the same game, but a continuation of the storyline, a couple new guns, the addition of a designated Combat Medic in your squad, and an updated Cross-Com system, which works pretty well actually. Other than that, like I said, it's basically the same game, but only about 3/4 as long as the first one. The ending is pretty decent, but it's sortof unclear at first, like the Halo 3 ending, except a sequel is still possible. Overall, though, it's a great sequel and you should definitely pick it up if you were a fan of the first GRAW.

Okay guys, that's it! I'm off to go start Rainbow Six Vegas!

Yes!!! I GOT AN XBOX 360!!!!!

Sup guys, I'm pretty happy as of late, for which reason you probably already know after seeing the blog title. Yep, I FINALLY got an Xbox 360. The reason being was because since my parents knew I've wanted one really badly for so long, and since I also made the Track team and have pretty good grades, they surprised me on Friday and said that I could take $1000 out of my savings account and use it on a 360/Accessories/Games. So Friday after school, I went over to Best Buy and picked up the following:

-Xbox 360 Elite
-Play and Charge Kit with Wireless Controller Bundle
-12 Month Xbox Live Gold Subscription Card

and then the following 360 games:
Halo 3Gears of WarBioShockTom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced WarfighterTom Clancy's Rainbow Six VegasTomb Raider: LegendTomb Raider: Anniversary

...and then I bought (not for 360):
The Orange BoxMidnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix

So far on the 360, I've only played Halo 3 and Gears of War though. I spent a good 4 hours or so beating the first half of Halo 3 the night that I got it, and then another 4 the next morning beating the rest of the game. Then, I played on Matchmaking for a long time and made it through Basic Training. I've come to realize why everyone made such a big deal out of this game...because it's nothing short of an epic masterpiece. Then, I started the Gears of War campaign last night and beat Act 1 on Casual, and I've been working my way through the rest of the game this morning. I figure I'll probably beat the game by late tonight if I keep going at the same pace.

And then as far as The Orange Box goes, I only installed HL2: Episode 2, TF2, and Portal since I've already beaten HL2 and HL2:E1. I've only gotten around to just playing a few minutes of TF2 with Ish last night though. And I haven't played Midnight Club 3 yet either, so yeah.

Also, I have a full week of school off this week, so I'll have plenty of time to play my new games, which I'm pretty psyched about. Anyway, yeah, my gamertag is Rocker531 so if you want to send me a friend request, go right ahead, and we'll play some Halo 3 or something together.

Alright, that's it for now guys! Have a good day!!!! (I know I will :D)
