@Barighm: You're missing the point, for those people who don't like this kind of game, they can either do what you said, or simply avoid it, I think it's fair to point it out, it didn't even detract anything from the score.
@esqueejy: True, but that was a big generalization, I like the aspect that the game is hard, and I play solo, I don't measure virtual dicks. I just like the challenge.... but, yes, some people are cringy defending the game difficulty curve.
@Sushiglutton: And it's fine. Not all games are for everyone, but, despite what some people said, it doesn't make you a worse gamer or a casual either. I hope you find something that you enjoy though.
@silv3rst0rm: Maybe a true journal, like where you the player could write notes. I would love that, it isn't hand holding and it gives you the tools for not relying on memory alone.
@Daian: No, I'm glad they did it, it's their game's design philosophy, sometimes visions are excluding, and it's fine, there are many games that are easier for everyone. Takes integrity to keep focus on your vision and not bend to those who wish it were different.
So it's not gatekeeping, it's sticking to a principle and not make it for the lowest common denominator those willing to take a plunge and try something new might enjoy, if they don't, it's great too. But for use that are fans of this kind of gaming, this is a treat and we are so glad that at least From Software has the principles of doing what they believe is right for us and for them.
