I'm definitely not buying the next Playstation until I have at least finished a good chunk of the PS3 library and that will take at least 2-3 years in its own right - given the state and quantity of my backlog. Even after that, I'd like to think I would have the patience to wait another year, if not already for a rebranded and refined version of the same system (case in point of this generation: PS3 Slim at half the price it was selling for at launch. :)
Crysis is great and while Skyrim is more hyped/popular at the moment, I think you'll be equally satisfied with $20 on Crysis given your financial situation. It's a great game with 15 hours single player and then there's some multiplayer fun to be had too. Then I'd get Skyrim for Christmas when it's around the $40 mark. :)
Definitely worth the investment! The system's at its peak in its life cycle and it's as cheap as you'll ever find it in the future. Its library is astonishingly varied and contains a substantial amount of very cheap AAA titles. I would say the next generation of consoles will release late 2013 to early 2014. But even then the systems won't hit the ground running until at least late 2015. Go for it bro!
Incredibly minimal. I threw in a thread a few months ago and out of pure curiosity this is what I found for failure rates. Of course it's not amazingly accurate but it does include 70 or so Gamespotters in the poll. :) http://uk.gamespot.com/forums/topic/28770439/poll-any-of-your-slims-bitten-the-dust-yet
I'm still perfectly content on playing Batman and Modern Warfare 3 until Christmas, at least with school, homework and tests happening as well. Given I'm gonna buy Battlefield, Resistance and Uncharted next year, I'll hold out and buy Revelations when it reaches the $15 mark next Summer like II and Brotherhood.
