If Bethesda was at the top of their game it would have been a brilliant move to catch up with Sony, But alot of people have turned their backs on their games after Fallout 76, And MS has already stated they are going to leave Bethesda to create their own games in their own way, So it means we will still get buggy broken games that are bareboned so it takes Mods to make them half decent, And I expect they will totally lockdown mods to bethesda.net when the next elderscrolls is released, So expect to pay for most mods soon.
The other thing to remember Sony already blocked alot of mods on Skyrim and Fallout4 making the Playstation the worst place to play Bethesda games and it still didn't hurt their console sales.
They need to interfere or Bethesda games are going to continue to be buggy messes that take 9 months of broken patches to be even close to stable, And the Creation engine is beyond upgrades and improvements its a liability and needs to be dumped.
Most likely they did the video on purpose so they could pretend it caused outrage and then quickly post another video to fix the situation, Easy publicity for the game.

The engine thats been upgraded and overhauled many times over the years and still has some of its original bugs and limitations, Now even under MS control Bugthesda are going to continue to release buggy games that crash and need tons of patches to fix.
First off Sony is only releasing games at the end of Gen on PC its unlikely that will change, Sony's exclusives sell their consoles porting to PC years later is just a way to make abit of extra cash but if it costs too much too make a stable port or people complain to much and it causes negative press for Sony they just wont bother.
An associate sound designer is normally a freelance position, So the job he was taken on for is finished so he moves on, If hes still an associate at Obsidian its likely in a few years time he will move on again.
