@GothikaGeist: I know. I've tried them. They work but some things remain wonky. Aiming with a sniper rifle is near impossible. That's why I said native controller support would be nice.
@dynamitecop: Not true. I just upgraded from a 2500k to a 6600k a few months ago and have seen huge jumps in FPS. Before the upgrade I benched both CPUs with my old GTX 680 before I dropped the 1070 in and saw gains of 30-40 FPS in BF4. Both CPUs were clocked at 4.5 Ghz. The 2500k was paired with 8GB of DDR3 1333 and the 6600k was paired with 32GB of DDR4 3000. CPU dependent games will see big enough gains. Now, is it absolutely necessary? No. You'll survive. But don't expect to max out future games expecting a rock solid 60 FPS.
@wearelegion5000: I'd say it's worth it. I know the video only shows a 3770 but the advantages Skylake/Kaby Lake provides over Sandy Bridge are obvious. Even the jump to DDR4 alone is worth it IMO.
@Ultramarinus: Err, maybe you don't know what you're looking for? Either that or you're still using a hard drive. There's DEFINITELY a difference. I upgraded from a 2500k with 8 GB of DDR3 1333 to a 6600k with 32 GB of DDR4 3000 MHz. For comparisons sake when I upgraded I benched the system with my old GTX 680 before I dropped the new GTX 1070 in. I had gains of 30-40 FPS in BF4.
My advice is to make sure you're running the fastest RAM you can afford. DDR4 3000 is the minimum. Digital Foundry has a bunch of videos on how RAM speeds affect minimum FPS in Skylake CPUs. Very useful information.
@dladz: TV has an 18ms input lag. 8ms from the 10 on my monitors. My K/D in BF1 on PC is 2.2, 1.8 on the PS4 Pro and 1.4 on the Xbox One (due the terrible frame times on the damn thing) I'm absolutely fine brother. :)
@spartanx169x: Changing your motherboard for a new one is where things get a little tricky. First of all Windows will recognize your PC as a new one and you'll lose activation. If your copy of Windows is a retail copy you can just call MS and they'll issue you a new key. If it's an OEM copy, you're going to need to buy another one. Also, if you upgrade your CPU, mobo and RAM you won't have to worry about updating the BIOS.
@Barighm: Who's gone mobile? Mistwalker? The thing is I think MS actually owns the Lost Odyssey IP so if it's a sequel it will only be on MS platforms. Don't quote me on that though. I'm gonna go google and see what I find on that now.
@spartanx169x: Oh WOW that's going back quite a ways lol. First gen Core series. Try and find an i7 and overclock it as much as you can but I'm afraid to say you're still going to end up with a bottleneck. Those CPUs simply just don't cut it anymore.
