can you please stop typing like that? use paragraphs. you're making your posts stretch the page more than they need to.

you're still ignoring pretty much everything i'm saying and i'm starting to think you're doing it on purpose. you say most of the wii games are bad. newsflash: most games for every system are bad. who cares about how much money goes into making games? cheap games can be good. expensive games can be bad. if we go with your logic, every system is killing gaming.

CaseyWegner

"who cares about how much money goes into making games? "

A product that costs a dollar to develop will be inferior to a product that costs more to develop as a general rule, therefore your statement that money has nothing to do with it is false. Also you have not responded to my point that on the Wii the ratio of good to bad games is skewed to the ratio of the MAJORITY being bad WII games.Few Wii games being good and that is what Nintendo is doing to ruin quality games by promoting a skewed focus where the goal is low cost/low quality games for the Wii platform.I give you respect by presenting coherent points and I ask the same in return from you. Please respond to my points instead of ignoring them.I gave you examples of why games on the Wii are not the same quality experience as a general rule that are obtained from the 360 and the PS3.The Wii is killing quality gaming and this is Nintendoes doing. As to your question of how I know that they are doing this I have already said that most games when reviewed that are for the Wii get a low score and you were shown direct evidence of Games Developers doing low quality/low budget games that when reviwed get low scores. This is self evident. If there is a question that I did not address then please present your case on a point by point basis since the focus of this conversation is the lack of quality games on the Wii and the ruination of quality gameing on said platform and no other being discussed. Therefore we are not talking about Nintendos focus on the 360 and neither are we talking about Nintendoes focus on the PS3.We are talking about a Nintendo product called the Wii and its lack of quality games.

they're going for a different type of gaming market. some of the games happen to be cheaper to make. bigbudget games don't always indicate quality.they're still releasing good games. is the ps3 ruining gaming? have previous systems ruined gaming?

CaseyWegner

The point is the games market that they are going after is cheap and low quality.

The few Wii first party games that are worth a purchase are too few.

The point is most of the Wii games are BAD.

I gave you links to WII game reviews.

I stated that the MAJORITY of Wii games are bad based on rewiews and less importantly my personal experience.

I gave you a link to a Games Developer stating that the quality games are being developed only for the 360 and for the PS3.

No quality games for the Wii since the focus is casual games from that Games Developer and many more.

Cheap price points in most cases are an indicator that quality has gone out the window.

An axiom of business is:

Quality.

Service.

Low price.

Pick two.

another long post

CaseyWegner

so you're saying they are purposely making bad games to draw more people in. -_-

but anyway, how do you know that's what they are doing? is the ps3 killing gaming? have other slow starting systems killed gaming? what makes the wii so much different? spare me philosophical details...they aren't needed.

Yes Mr. Casey developers are making subpar and LOW quality games for the Wii:

http://www.aussie-nintendo.com/?v=news&p=16574

Guillemot explained that the development of casual games costs anywhere from 1 million euros to 4 million, depending on how many platforms they're being created for. By comparison, a normal Wii game costs about 5 to 10 million euros, while an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 one costs from 10 million to 20 million.

Cosmic Family for the WII

So in synthesis the real quality games are being developed for the 360 and the PS3.

The ship it anyway games are being produced for the WII

Nintendo is ruining quality games creation by inciting developers to create subpar games for the Wii.

Garbage in Garbage out.

Thank God there are other options than greedy Nintendo.

And just what is it going to take to convince you Mr. Casey W. that Nintendo is ruining quality game production?

every system has tons of bad games but you don't have to play them. it's the presence of good games that's important. plenty of systems have had slow starts but it didn't mean they were killing gaming.

Ah but Casey Wegner:

How do you tell what is good art versus bad art?

How do you tell if that music is good or bad?

How do you tell if that movie is good or bad?

How do you tell if that video game is good or bad?

You sample and evaluate it.

This builds refrence points and creates a background to decide what is bad art and what is good art.

The focus for years(NES and later years) was lets create the best game that we can so as to stand a chance of selling our product.

The gamers from sampling either nascent home console art or arcade machine art had refrence points to evaluate good art versus bad art.

Enter the new consumer be it a Grandma or a six yearold child who have no ability to choose what makes a good game and what makes a bad game.

The crime by Nintendo is creating a focus for the sampling of art where the final NEW user has no refrence points and as such these consumers are unknowingly taken advantage of.

These are the ones who buy any Wii game since they are berefit of refrence points to decide if the art is bad or good are those new to games.

What is killing quality games is the FOCUS on producing, promoting, distributing and selling bad art to those who have no idea what is good or bad.

This distorts what sells and creates a market where there is little to no incentive to produce anything of quality and value for the final consumer on said platform.

The only thing growing is the number of bad games on said aforementioned platform due to the focus of new users and this scenario is what made the Game Crash of 1984(I am sure someone knows the precise year and month) .

Nintendo is killing the quality game experience in favor of pulling in more users that purchase LOWER quality games.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Why make a game for the 360 when its more expensive to make and will probably sell less because not a many people will own it? Crap games don't sell on the wii. Look at that thread dencore made a while ago which showed that. monkeysrfat

That's not entirely true. Mario Party 8, Red Steel and Big Brain Academy all have strong sales.

Big brain academy isn't even out yet. Sorry that statement was misleading. Good games sell on the wii and crap games usually sell less than the good games. But games people claim are selling and ruining the industry like cooking mama don't sell very well.

Nintendo is ruining the industry with garbage games.

"We are excited by the sales performance of Cooking Mama as it reinforces Majesco's content and platform strategy,"

its shipped 500,000 not sold...

Here little sheep.

Hold that sheep, Snake!

!.... hit that sheep with a trank gun

Ok Master Chief hold that sheep and Snake grab its legs.

Baaaaaaaa, whats going on.

No need to worry mr. sheep since you are going to eat 500, 000 of either sold or shipped Wii crap so open wide.

Whats the c4 for Snake?

Snake: its for boosting that sheep over the net to play sheep volley ball with Mr. sheep as the ball.

Master Chief: watch this..........KRATHOOM!.............napalm on those sheep works every time.

Master Chief: Hey Snake, try these napalm rounds on that there sheep and watch that sucker run.

Shipped or sold its all the same with Wii crap since those poor sheep get burned anyway.

[QUOTE="V_Isle"]Brawl looks like more of the same and SMG just doesn't interest me that much. If I sold my Wii now, I could immediately buy Bio-shock, and pre-order/pay off either Halo 3 or Mass Effect or w/e completely. And I'd still have $20 left over, and that's without even selling the two games which could most likely tack on about $50 or so.GameWiz1000

Why did you buy the Wii if you don't like any of Nintendo's big names like Mario andMetroid Prime?

The problem in my case was LACK of Wii games worth playing despite hype and promise after promise.

I sold my Wii since I was tired of broken promises.

I felt like a starving man amidst plenty with nothing on my plate and 360 diners and PS3 diners with plenty of fare.

Goes back to either playing the FOM or Bioshock demo and starts getting used to the idea of options as far as what game to play TODAY! (well the full Warhawk game in a few hours) getting Gears also in a few hours.

From a business perspective...actually it is quite logical if you think about it. Why put effort into a 360 game when you can rush out a Wii game and have it sell?

Why make a game for the 360 when its more expensive to make and will probably sell less because not a many people will own it? Crap games don't sell on the wii. Look at that thread dencore made a while ago which showed that.

Wiiplay is garbage and sold plenty and the MAJORITY of Wii games are bad.

Review: Wii Play

Let's not mince words here: As a stand-alone game, Wii Play is awful.

It has 9 mini-games but they are all, without exception or fail, repetitive and mediocre.

I got rid of my Wii after experiencing bad wii game after bad wii game since there was nothing else to play.

Escape from Bug Island was the final straw prompting a get rid of my wii console sale.

Yes Strikers was good but its the same as the Game Cube days:

The hype:

Plenty of Wii games, ese!

The truth:

Plenty of BAD Wii games with FEW Wii games worth playing.

Nintendo ruined the quality game experience on the Wii in favor of a quick buck from third party developers.

Why sit and wait and waiit and WAIT! for the ocasional Wii game when you can play RIGHT NOW! with either the 360 or the PS3 and every week you get a quality 360 game or a PS3 game and thats week after week after week.

360+PS3 is whats needed.

Why bother with a Wii when there are plenty of WORTHY games on the 360 and PS3.

monkeysrfat

thats opinion.

Nope thats wii game after wii game getting BAD reviews and the only solution is being told to wait until something good comes along?

I am done with waiting, the Wii and sheep telling me to wait until 2008 for more games.....bah!

I want to play NOW! so the solution is buying a 360 and a PS3.
