The return of "the sunshine state"

Wow, Florida was really living up to it's reputation as the sunshine state for a while...but our drought seems over, and it's back to being super humid, and raining every day...Our daily afternoon thunderstorms will probably make their triumphant return in the next month or so. The cIass of 2008 has approximately six hours of school left at the time of this post...and my last three months with my best friend will begin. (he's moving up to Jacksonville for college) We'll be upgrading the waterslide soon...right now, it's made of three giant bill-board sized tarps...we're getting TEN more this week ...it's gonna give a new definition to "extreme"

Free Money!

I just got a letter in the mail that says I'm getting $300 from the government provided by the "Economic Stimulus Act of 2008" I thought it was supposed to be $600, but hey, who am I to complain about getting free money? :P Risky Business (my friend's band for those who don't know) Is getting ready for their first show since February's battle of the bands...and their first free parking lot show (something they've become known for) in over a year. It's gonna be big... My little sister, my best friend Joe, and a bunch of other friends only have four days of high school left...Unfortunately, their graduation is during the season finale of Lost ...at least I have my trusty DVR :) There's also something else in the works right now...but it's too secret to talk about on the internets right now

Sleeping on the floor does a body good

I always feel awesome after sleeping on the floor. The problem is, it's hard to actually fall asleep on a floor under normal circumstances, but when you're drunk enough, it's pretty damn comfortable. *Side note: waking up with a kitten licking you're toe is a strange feeling. My friend's girlfriend booked our house on St. George Island for a week in the middle of August. It's only gonna cost us $100 each instead of $300 like we thought :) Our 100 foot slip n slide is a huge success. At this point, I'm waiting for someone to post pics or videos of it on facebook, because I'm too lazy to go out there and take one myself to show you guys. :P

Cinco de WHAT?

Remember how I said my weekend wasn't over yet in my blog post yesterday? (you probably don't unless your name is inyourface_12 because he's the only one who reads my blog these days) anyway, we had planned on having a Cinco de Mayo barbeque with a few friends in our old bonfire pit. lets just say it turned into a whole lot more than that  30-40 people showed up to try our new 100 foot waterslide, and partake in our food and drinks, and we have no problem with that...it's why we built the thing :P The problem came when one of the neighbors got suspicious of the unusually large number of cars parked on the street of my little neighborhood, and decided to call the cops  (someone's house will be getting egged in the near future) Two of Orlando's finest walked into my back yard, and asked everyone to have a seat, then proceeded to divide us into groups. Those who drove here, those who walked here, and those who had been drinking. Seven of us decided to be the martyrs for the rest of the group, and admitted to it...if we hadn't, the whole group would probably have been taken in. The seven of us were walked up to the cop car, and got fingerprinted, and I guess we have criminal records now. Oh yeah, he also asked if any of us had any Guns, swords, or rocket launchers..I said "Only in Grand Theft Auto sir!" So, in the end, we all got out okay, The seven of us are heroes, and Joe and I are legendary among Olympia high school's class of '08 :D

Crazy weekend

I'm not gonna get into the details, but lets just say my weekend involved lots of drinks, lots of fire, Almost driving out to the middle of nowhere to buy a goat, building a 100 foot waterslide in my back yard, and not getting nearly enough sleep. ...and it's not over yet...

[insert attention grabbing blog title here]

Risky Business Demo: My friends band finished recording their demo a while ago. They finally put the tracks up on their myspace if you want to hear them: http://www.myspace.com/weareriskybusiness It sounds pretty good considering the fact that it was recorded in the singer's bedroom  No longer suffering under the mouse's tyrany: I quit my job at Disney World. Being back on the job hunt sucks, but at least I'm done with "the happiest place on earth" Buying into the hype: I've never played a GTA game, but I just ordered GTA4 from Gamestop.com last night. It's kinda hard to igmore a game that gets perfect review scores across the board :P Pleasant surprise: Apparently, Scrubs is getting a full eighth season :o and It's moving to ABC for some reason...

And..how am I supposed to pronounce that?

The title of Less Than Jake's new album has been revealed: I have no idea how they want me to pronounce that, but it's supposed to say Gainesville Florida (I hate it when people abbreviate Florida "FLA" IT'S JUST "FL" DAMNIT!! ) Some interesting song titles as well: 1. City Of Gainesville 2. The State Of Florida 3. Does the Lion City Still Roar? 4. Summon Monsters 5. Abandon Ship 6. Handshake Meets Pokerface 7. Settling Son 8. Malachi Richter's Liquor's Quicker 9. Golden Age Of My Negative Ways 10. The Space They Can't Touch 11. Conviction Notice 12. This One's Gonna Leave A Bruise 13. The Life Of The Party Has Left The Building 14. Devil In My DNA I can't wait to hear it...as long as it's better than their last release anyway. :| In other news, tonight will be a great night for TV. New Scrubs, and New Lost on the same night! :o... :D oh yea, I also got my gold sniper rifle in Call of Duty 4 :D...that's 750 headshots

The Exciting story of...(for realz this time)

...The Streetlight Manifesto show! :o As usual, finding anything in downtown Orlando is nearly impossible, but we ended up finding the venue minutes before the doors opened. I immediately headed over to the merch table to buy myself a spiffy new t shirt: after that, we waited for about an hour before the show started. Dan Potthast opened the show. he puts on a pretty entertaining show with songs like "the KKK adopted a highway", and one about his Catholic school upbringing where he talks about how they told him that girls got pregnant by staying out after the streetlights came on  After that, Zox took the stage. I had been listening to them since I found out they would be supporting Streetlight on this tour, and I thought the were pretty good. A little bit boring, but still good. Their live show is so much better than I expected. I've never seen a violinist rock out like that before  Streetlight came out after what seems like another half hour of excruciating waiting. They opened the show with "Watch it crash" and the place basically exploded with the first note. the rest of the setlist (might be out of order in some places) We will fall together failing, flailing Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe Here's to life The Receiving end of it all a better place, a better time [Acoustic set, complete with stand up bass] It's a wonderful life Linoleum (NoFX cover) Forty days [/acoustic] A moment of silence/ A Moment of violence Point/keasbey nights/counterpoint Would you be impressed? Dear Sergio somewhere in the between Thy had mics on the crowd. I think that means we can expect a live streetlight album at some point :D My friend Matt ended up losing his hat, Joe somehow got his jeans ripped halfway up his leg, Adrian lost his shoe at the beginning of the show, and got it back by the end. There was a lot more stage diving, and crowd surfing than last November's show, and the bouncers seemed to be okay with it. over all, it was easily the best show I've been to.

The exciting story of...

...nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just another random blog update. sorry to get your hopes up. - After 14 days of not listening to Streetlight Manifesto, I'm pretty excited about tomorrow night's show. Apparently, My friends and I have been spreading SM around, because there are about 15-20 people that I know going to this show, as opposed to the three of us last November  - My friend's band's demo is currently playing through my MacBook's speakers, and I'm impressed. "Frances Nupert" is the best song EVAR! :P - We had a cold front come through yesterday...in the middle of April...in FLORIDA  - Scrubs is back! there was a new episode last Thursday...good thing my DVR recorded it, because I had no idea it was on

stuff (I already have a blog called stuff so I'll add this to the end)

- I had a loaded AK-47 pointed at me last night :o - My friend's band's demo is apparently finished, and from what I heard when I attended one of their recording sessions last weekend, it sounds really good. :) - A church near my house recently finished building a massive cross that apparently cost over 1 million dollars, and is very visible from my back yard...:| - One week until Streetlight Manifesto :D - It's been raining every day for about a week now...and this is supposed to be our dry season  - A friend of mine is watching his co worker's apartment while he's in Thailand...until June...partay time 8)
