@DKRises @SDBusDriver1979 Except most mmos are just reskinned WoW clones. Playing SWtOR is the same experience as playing WoW, they both feature the same bland quests and end game is mostly the same. The only games I have found to deviate from the norm would be Star Wars Galaxy and Eve, both unique and terrible in their own ways but there is nothing like them.
@DaneGamer @SDBusDriver1979 The more games the just copy wow and will never be as good as wow because wow has 9 years of content, its just lost potential for something that would be truly a new and unique experience. Especially when its something like Starcraft, its depressing that this is the most that die hard fans could come up with.
I just plugged these quotes into Google translate from PR nonsense into English this is what I got.
"We have six to eight completely new studios in the buying process. The day we stop buying new studios is when we go onto proper management of our existing studios," he added. "We need to inhibit old IPs and push Battlefieldâ„¢ boundaries."
"It's a soulless business. You have to surprise people and you have to take all the good studios. If you don't, you die," Gibeau said at the time. "So constantly trying to keep Originâ„¢ afloat from a soulless money making corporate machine standpoint is a difficult challenge. But it's something we do at EA, and I think we have the best track record in being able to copy ideas and buy studios over time and trash all of their good IPs."
Japan proving they are the last bastion of doing whatever they want and not be tried down to today's morals when it shouldn't apply to a fictional setting.
@puukusa @arqe SWG was a unique case due to its sandbox nature, it wasn't the best made game and had a lot of issues but it was unique. I appreciated that, unfortunately most of the people who worked on SWG left SOE and joined Bioware. Since EA and Bioware's interest was everything but providing a new and unique experience we are left with a re-skinned Star Wars theme WoW clone and who wants to play WoW these days anyways.
I hope whoever did the artwork for EQN was laid off too. How do you not make something unique, epic, and expansive that instantly triggers your imagination and desire to explore as a template that was made more than a decade ago?
