@bakagami No misconceive guesswork, check Sony financial information. Been at an operation lose for a long time and eventually it will effect the consumers.
@bakagami Its very important because that they suck as much life out of the PS3. Their gaming division is currently losing money and the PS3 is the only system that they have that will turn them any kind of profit. Cause they sure won't be profiting off the Vita any time soon (Sony even said that in their forecast) and they will lose money when they shift to they PS4. Sony is in a financial problem that they haven't been able to fix since 2006 and eventually it will effect that service you are currently happy with. Layoffs, studio closings, quick money grabbing gimicks, etc; it can go downhill. I like to see some life in my PS3 before everything leaves it behind.
Also the 360 has been a door stopper since 2010, but that might not be such a bad thing for M$ as it would force people to move to the next console when it hits but I am no marketing expert.
PS3 is I think in prime time, it a great time to buy a PS3......In other news, systems sales have continuously been in decline year over year. And all we get to look forward to is a Modnation racer sequel, a Smash Brothers clone, and Wonderbook this year. I would probably argue 2009 was PS3's Prime Time with the slim launch and price cut, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Infamous. That was a great year and Sony has failed to top it. I doubt Sony will be able to deliver an exciting year as 2009 before everything shifts to next gen.
Microsoft handles online, development kits, and infrastructure, Sony handles hardware and provide studios, and Nintendo is there just to slap the crap out of Sony to make sure they don't put any unnecessary overdeveloped, under performing components that gives developers nightmares over *cough emotion engine *cough cell processor and they don't have to sell the console at a loss. A person can dream.
