Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the most wanted game this holiday season, according to a Nielsen Video Game Tracking survey. The stats show Activision's big-budget shooter on 27% of participants' top 5 anticipated titles, beating its two closest competitors (Gears of War 3 and Madden NFL 12) by a margin of 8%.

3 million in one week for official sales is definitely impressive. But I'm afraid Gears of War 3 won't hold the "Entertainment Launch of the Year" long enough, for on November 8th, new records will be broken.

Nonetheless, congratulations to MS. I found the beta to be very good, and doubt Gears 3 isn't much better than Gears 2.

A FPS (BF3) does not win GotY by being technically advanced... It's all about having fun, and I think that will stop BF3 from getting any awards this year (except for technical ones, of course).

If we are to be truthfully series, though, probably Skyrim or maybe the new Batman game. If SS looked better than a PS2 game, it could have had a shot too.

Gears 1 was an unbeatable diamond (360). Gears 2 was horrible, though, and Gears 3 I don't care so much for.

Take out BF3 and possibly Gears 3, and the rest of the games combined will not transcend the sales of MW3.

The only thing thay may threaten the sales of MW3 is combined sales of othermultiplatform titles. Exclusives don't stand a chance. So MW3 will dominate once again this year, with other multiplatform titles coming closer and closer than they did previous years.
