Depressingly, for some people (*cough*his friend) it does get close to that. And note, that definitely isn't something to brag about. It's bad, really bad. For the remaining, sane population, no, it's a game, like any other. Oh, and talking about 'owning some noobs' and 'becoming pro' or whatever makes you sound disturbingly similar to those insanely high pitched 13 year olds who spam the mic on Xbox Live, you know, the ones who's gamertag consists of leet speak and 'xxx's', often containing the words '0ptic', 'Pr0'... 'Shr3dd3d' (herr herr herr...)TheOtherTheoG

I'm 18, and definitely not one of those guys... I hate them.

I ain't even gonna say something funny about this...Just gotta ask you.. Are you for real ?

Lucianu

What's that supposed to mean? Yeah...

That's supposed to mean that this thread is beyond making fun of. It has reached a level of facepalm so epic that i can't even express in words how ridiculous it is.

A lifestyle is basically a way a person lives, by saying that Call of Duty is a lifestyle, you're telling me that your life revolves around CoD.

Maybe it's a bit extreme, but approaching it would not be wrong to say. Most gamers on consoles don't play Gears or Halo nowadays. They play COD. One friend of mine even broke up with his girlfriend because she wouldn't let him play CoD (CoD4 times), and I am sure there are many similar cases out there in the online world.

No, it's just a video game. And not even a very good one at that.savebattery

I came to think that it's something everyone buys every November since like CoD4. At least on the 360 and PS3, topping charts, online activity and so on... So for most online gamers on the HD consoles, I think it may be a lifestyle, actually. Not to mention the custom-made movies, the billion commentaries on YouTube when people can talk random **** while we watch CoD gameplay...

Me and a friend of mine were having a discussion about Gears 3 yesterday.

Me: How are things going in Gears 3, owning some noobs lately?

He: Yeah, because I have already said it will be my last game this year, I am trying to get pro at it, it has my full focus atm.

Me: What, so you are not going to buy MW3?!

He: Well, of course, but MW3 doesn't count, because it's not a game, but rather a way of life. You always buy CoD.

Do you agree? I thought about what he had said, and came to the conclusion that it may very well be the case in these days.

The sequel to Black Ops is the only one guaranteed to be purchased, because, as my friend says, when you decide how many games to buy in a year, CoD doesn't count, because it's not a game, but a lifestyle.

Other possibilities: GTA V. GTA IV was a great gangster adventure.

So I suppose Resistance 3 outsold Madden ?? ... Oh wait

Biohazard93

Resistance 3 debuted with sales less than 200,000... While Gears 3 at least hit 2 million.

And Madden will surely get destroyed by Modern Warfare 3.

MW3 has dedicated servers on the PC. And as IW claimed: 'when 30 million people are playing your game, P2P is the best solution' (for consoles).

ChubbyGuy40

lulz, 30 million. P2P is never the best solution.

That is supposed to mean anything?

[QUOTE="fabz_95"]It's no longer the 100% AAA like I thought it would be but there's a good chance it will be, 8.5 is a possibility though.Pug-Nasty

As I personally see it, 8.5 would be an acceptable score for BF3.

Not a bad game of the FPS genre at all, but it simply does not live up to Call of Duty quality.

If BF3 and MW3 are anything like their previous iterations, 8.5 is too high for either. If MW3 doesn't have dedicated servers, it should get no higher than a 6.
